Are we talking about laws someone else broke?

Or are we talking about "things I've done for the country?"

Assuming the former, let's take traffic laws.

Can someone say they've never violated the speed limit? Or always come to a complete stop at a red light? Or always signaled with their blinker to change lanes? Or always had the lights on when it's raining?

Most people routinely break all kinds of laws on a daily basis because they have more important things to do that keep up with the latest edicts.

And most people get away with it because the surveillance state hasn't been fully implemented yet, although the gov't is certainly trying.

Did you ever attempt to have wine shipped direct to you from an out-of-state winery? A felony in Indiana...many folks aren't aware of laws banning the shipments of out-of-state alcohol.

I was talking to an LEO in Texas once, who had previously worked in Indiana, and he told me that he liked the laws in Texas better since he could arrest ANYONE.

Mulder, I asked you to name a law that someone had broken because they didn't know it existed. Traffic offenses do not fall in that category.

Nittany Lion...I am quite aware you can't ship liquor, including wine, into this state. The Indiana excise laws are very strict. For example, you cannot have minors seated in an area with an open bar.

Now, give me an example of a law that I would break without knowing about it. If I want to ship wine, using your example, it would be my responsibility to find out the laws about it, just like one finds out the laws about shipping guns, ammunition, pharmaceuticals, fireworks, or tobacco. Suppliers of these items usually notify customers of problems shipping to one's state.

I don't have the slightest idea what, if any, laws you've broken (nor am I all that interested in guessing, since I don't know you). I just find the importation of wine to be an interesting example of which many are unaware. Hence the reason anytime you participate in a wine tasting people are always left confused by why they can't have wine shipped back to their residence.

Incidentally, those laws are a big point of contention - many are being challenged currently.
