[history]
Elizabeth Corrie would see her younger cousin every summer at the family vacation spot on Minnesota's Cedar Lake.
Elizabeth, a Midlothian High School alumna who teaches at a private school in Atlanta, was born nearly a decade earlier than Rachel. But they shared a similar sense of humor, a yearning for social justice and a desire to make a difference.

Nonsense.

Are you kidding? Of course some would, with great relish. Temporarily. I don't think joy at the death of an American soldier because of who his/her parents are would survive a moderator's review.

"We have to live with the fact that our tax dollars paid for that Caterpillar bulldozer," Elizabeth said.Money well spent. Every cloud has a silver lining.

I hurt for her parents, who knew her better than we do They sent her to her death by the evil upbringing they gave her. Don't flatter them by calling them "misguided" or "naive." They are evil anarchists, dedicated to the destruction of this country and the extermination of Jews in the Middle East. Their spawn played a dangerous game protecting terrorists who were smuggling weapons used to murder innocents.
I don't mourn her loss, and I certainly do not feel sorry for her evil parents.

You don't see purpose here? Here? You mean FR, or this thread? BTW, NOT making cruel jokes about Rachel or her family is NOT sympathizing with terrorists or their families, NOR does it serve propaganda.
So now that you avoided my question, I'll ask it again;
What purpose does it serve conservatism to make cruel jokes about or her family?

There's a
very cool Rachel Corrie thread up at
Little Green Footballs. I quote from it:
Rachel got run over by a 'dozer
Walking 'round in Rafah back in March
You can say there's no such thing as Karma
But anti-idiotarians
WE BELIEVE!
To: Fzob
Cruel? These jokes are cruel?
These jokes are funny because they are so true.
Truth always serves a purpose.
Rachel Corrie was ridiculous - her "mission" was ridiculous - her manner of death was ridiculous - her family of "peace activists" collecting a memorial from terrorist Arafat is ridiculous. Ridiculing her is truth in action.

All the more reason to mourn, not to mock.
That's all I'll be saying on the matter. Have the last word if you please.

I guess the only point I was making is that we should behave better than the DUmmies. That's all. I'm not fixing to flame you because I understand your point, but I want to say something: this approach, this "we must do this in a more honorable manner than they do" philosophy, suggests that we win by fighting nicer, or that our cause becomes just (and justified) by the manner in which we fight rather than in WHAT we are fighting for.
And I disagree. Even if we "sink to their level" we really don't. It's what we're fighting for that makes the difference. JMHO.

I agree, but by making fun of her death we help fuel the leftist agenda.
There is no such thing as being nice to leftists, it serves no purpose other than to encourage them.

"It's what we're fighting for that makes the difference." A most excellent point. I was not suggesting fighting "nicer," just with more nobility.

All the more reason to mourn, not to mock. As Forrest Gump said, "Stupid is as stupid does."
Your misplaced pity is nothing but cruelty to the victims of the criminals Ms. Pancake died protecting.

I was not suggesting fighting "nicer," just with more nobility. Not targeting mothers and babies on buses and in pizza parlors is nobler.

I'm not suggesting that we be nice to leftist. I'm merely suggesting we keep to the high ground. Something conservatives used to do with regularity.
