Michael Jackson gets weird on 60 Minutes..tonight 7pm CBS LIVE THREAD

Posted on 12/28/2003 3:32:33 PM PST by Hillary's Lovely Legs

By special request, here is your live thread for the Wacky Michael Jackson 60 Minutes interview.

Michael Jackson is talking.

CBS' "60 Minutes" will air an interview with the pop superstar tonight, marking Jackson's first public comments since his Nov. 20 arrest on suspicion of child molestation.

Ed Bradley interviewed Jackson for about 30 minutes on Christmas Day at a hotel in Los Angeles. Bradley had been pursuing an interview with Jackson even before the molestation charges. The CBS newsman traveled to Jackson's Neverland estate last February for an interview, but Jackson got cold feet and canceled it at the last minute.

Jackson, 45, is charged with seven counts of performing lewd or lascivious acts upon a child under 14 and two counts of administering an intoxicating agent. He remains free on $3 million bail.

And then he finally said, 'Okay, if you love me, you’ll sleep on the bed.'

When the little boy said that, chills went up my spine because that is the how "things" got started according to the statement of the other little boy.

Well, we'd rather trade Hicks than A-Rod. Since he took over the whole damn franchise has gone down the drain.

watching MJ's face while the boy told that story was quite telling; even if you didn't have interviewing experience or training. He is sooooo guilty.

SANTA BARBARA, California (CNN) -- Michael Jackson was booked on suspicion of child molestation Thursday, posted a $3 million bond and released in less than an hour.

Jackson claims that he was locked in a stinky bathroom at the police station for nearly 45 minutes? The entire booking took less than an hour according to a previous report from CNN? Geragos sits idly by during this interview while Jackson accuses the police department of misconduct knowing, full well, that it was a lie? I sure hope the bar association is listening to this?????

Maybe he is.Michael Jackson thinks the world should revolve around his out of touch with reality ideas, and can't understand why it doesn't.

I don't know about y'all, but I have had my fill of FOX News. Hourly, their on-air personalities try to out-do each other on the Jackson coverage. Then--the on-air personalities jump to the Mad Cow videos. FOX has really gone into a dung-heap. Who produces these shows? Barnum and Bailey?

GONG

This is a Fox News Alert!

The interview is airing right now here in AZ. Creepy, as expected.

joining in on the baseball discussion that is paralleling on this thread; I'm a Cleveland Indian fan and my favorite player of all time is now a New York Yankee (Kenny Lofton). Makes me want to climb into a police station bathroom full of doodoo and slit my wrists.

He could be on drugs, he can barely open his eyes.

I'm embarrassed that I watched this, but yeah, he looked like he was enjoying some pharmeceuticals to me, too.

I also think he might have been trying to cry, but I'm sure his tear ducts are gone by now.

I was surprised when his eyebrows moved. It's hard to give an impassioned plea when your face is incapable of movement.

Why, oh why? I'll never be able to respect someone that admires a Yankee so much. Sigh.

Couldn't find the poll which foxnews showed last week but did find this:

"Not all Americans hold negative views of Jackson, though, as most blacks rate him favorably. Combining the results of the two recent polls yields a sufficient sample size of blacks to produce reliable estimates by race. Fifty-four percent of blacks have a favorable view of Jackson, while just 30% view him unfavorably. On the other hand, fully 7 in 10 whites (73%) view Jackson unfavorably, while only 13% have a positive view of him"

Here's the link from Gallup.

Looks like Angelina Jolie lent him her upper lip for the interview. Every time he says something about sharing his bed with a child, or sniffles and starts to cry, or whimpers "I'm hurting," all I can do is contemplate how completely unlike a normal 45-year-old man he is.

the fact that's he's a yankee does not make me happy by any stretch of the imagination. Hence the doody and wrist slitting. ;-)

That's even a bigger whopper than Clinton would tell.
I thought the same thing: I remember the "it took just
under an hour" bit so there's no way he could have been
sitting in a stinky bathroom for 45 minutes. Between
that and being escorted into and out of the building, how long did the booking last...3 minutes? No way any booking would be that brief.

Was Geragos present during the interview? I thought his appearance was shot elsewhere but could be wrong.

I'll bet MJ loves baseball...especially the Little
League World Series. He's hoping to do a remake of
"The Bad News Bears" where he plays the coach of
the team. Director: "In THIS scene, Michael, you're sleeping with the team's star pitcher when..."
