Wellll, I have lower blue toolbar on auto hide. I think you can do that from the right click button.
Anyway--bring it up visibly and run your cursor to the top edge until you see the double arrows for resizing it--the resize it to your satisfaction. Mine is now about an inch or more thick top to bottom when it's visible.
Please let me know if that works.

Actually I came up with that fight idea from when I read about Buddha and Confucius in high school. I never could grasp their philosophies but all I could think about is who would win in a no-rules street fight.
