So, I guess you're going on record that we should ban more of the donors and the old-timers and or that if we pull someone's post, he should be banned?

And, by the way, a lot of people ignore the rules. Some way more than others. And some get more posts pulled than others and some get more timeouts for their trouble. Some eventualy exceed my choke point and get banned. Some days my choke point can be reached earlier than other days. Such is life. No one ever promised us a rose garden.

There's a hard coded length of time which I don't know off the top of my head. The software won't let an AM nuke a person who's sign up date is prior to that. The AM can plead his case to Jim and then Jim may act.

If I can look at a person's comments today and find demeaning and insulting posts, I can only think that there is nothing the person has to worry about as far as getting banned.

There are certainly those on this board who believe that the posting guidelines don't apply to them. For some of them, their perception appears to be true.

However, while they may have their toadies and bootlickers, they have a skewed view as to how they are generally perceived in the forum, and to their gravitational pulls in the solar system. These are not, by and large, posters one must take seriously.

Yes, it can be frustrating that they may violate forum decorum with apparent impunity, but think on this...

As they lean so heavily on their "special" status, it's nothing but a crutch.
