I think there are some people who actually hope that will happen. Along with big losses in Iraq, etc. Anything to bring down the current "R" president. It's all about oil, dontcha know.

Okay, how come you can't get to the main forum from your mail and have to go to your comments first? It's annoying as hell.

Hope it's not too late to jump in here, but I was wondering if it was possible to make it so that when a post is removed, we might still be able to see what post it responded to, and what were the replies.
Often times - especially in large threads - I find myself tracking a particular exchange backwards or forwards (using either the "To XX" or "View Replies" feature, respectively), and a zapped post tends to act as a roadblock.
Speaking of zapped posts, I noticed that since the upgrade, the software now removes them from our reply queue as well as from the main body of the thread. My request would be to go back to the old way. If someone sends me an inappropriate remark, I'd still want to have it on file so as to know whom I'm dealing with. Perhaps as a middle solution, we could allow the user himself to decide whether he wants the post to remain in his reply queue. Thank you.

While I am sitting here on a Saturday evening partaking of my Christmas bottle of Glenfiddich and one of my fine Padron Anniversario cigars, I want to get a big maudlin if I may?
On that faithful day in November 2000, when I did my part and voted out the sire of the Klinton Gang, I came home to celebrate, sure that the days of shame would soon be behind us all.
When things started going south, and I began to think all would be lost, and algore would end up shaming us for another term, I was dejected.
FR gave me hope that all was not lost, to take a deep breath, and wait it out.
If it were not for this site, and freepers, I would have given up all hope, because the news media sure wasn't telling us the truth.
Free Republic gave hope to the hopeless, made my food taste better, and helped me see the rainbow up there peeking through the clouds.
We owe you big time JimRob.
Now, return to jocularity everyone.

Free Republic gave hope to the hopeless, made my food taste better, and helped me see the rainbow up there peeking through the clouds. Its a floor wax AND a dessert topping!
(And, it annoys the hell out of my neighbor who fell to the political dark side long ago).

Would you be so kind as to help me with another problem. The last one I think I have for awhile. How do I start a new paragraph?

I don't like anything
unless it's swimming with the fish
although, there are no fish in AZ
but that's okay
I can find them elsewhere if I need them.
Does anyone else need fish to swim?
Swimming is good for the soul
I love you

A while back Jim and a few others tried to answer this, but I am wondering your take:
What exactly is the difference between a Neo Con and a Paleo Con?

What does a Ping mean? how do you change the fonts when replying to posts? how do you insert pictures on your Home Page?
To: Cultural Jihad
Of course, CJ, there are many ways that people can take themselves to hell in a handbasket. Should we outlaw all the ways it can be done? Overeating and eating fatty food leads to obesity and an early death. Let's ban hamburgers and ice cream. Not taking your medicine when your sick can cause you to get sicker and die. Make it a crime to refuse treatment. Smoking causes lung cancer and emphysema, then death. Ban cigarettes. Drinking alcohol leads to a plethora of problems. Let's ban alcohol again too.
People are responsible for themselves. Laws should only be implemented to protect others from the acts of those people.
To: missyme
Ping means someone is calling you to a thread.
AKA I have a thread that I know you might be interested in so I can "Ping" you.
Go here for some tips on html, which you will need to update your homepage.
Step 1. Click your own name and get to your homepage. There should be a link that says "you can edit this page"
Step 2. Put the appropriate html for posting pics or whatever in the box right under "Anything you'd like to say about yourself?"
You can put text or pictures or links or anything else net related in there.
