Hillary's Book Sales May be Half of Publisher's Claim

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton's publisher Simon & Schuster is claiming that her book "Living History" sold "more than 2.25 million copies" in 2003. But Nielsen Bookscan numbers published last week suggest that the actual sales figure for Clinton's book may be less than half that number.

"Oh, how they laughed when Sen. Hillary Clinton sat down to write - at the damn-fool publisher, Simon & Schuster, that ponied up an $8 million advance," mused New York Daily News book editor Sherryl Connelly on Thursday.

"Well, S & S has done fine," Connelly declared. "So far, 'Living History' has sold more than 2.25 million copies."

Last week, however, Nielsen Bookscan numbers cited by the Drudge Report put Clinton's book sales at just over one million copies sold [1,084,520, to be exact] - less than half of what her publisher told the Daily News.

Bookscan captures about 70 to 80 percent of total sales - tracking purchases at major outlets like Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, Borders and Costco, but missing other outlets like WalMart and airport bookstores.

Still, even assuming Bookscan missed as much as 30 percent of Mrs. Clinton's book sales, the adjusted number would bring her sales total up to only 1.5 million copies [1,550, 863, to be exact].

That's a whopping 750,000 fewer copies than Mrs. Clinton's publisher claimed to the Daily News.

Don't forget, her "publisher" is a part of Viacom, a constituent of ThatWoman...and that the contract itself and knowing inflation of sales reports constitute overt assistance to the Beast.

It's going to be a toss-up.

With Hillary as #2, O'Reilly gloats for months (if his sales exceed hers.) One is as bad as the other.

Maybe Simon & Schuster is confused because of the math involved having to figure out that it actually takes two people to read her book: An interested Liberal, and a Conservative patient enough to read it to him.

I think the publisher is claiming the number shipped to dealers as the number sold, a very common hype.

When the unsold books are returned or remaindered, they will have to restate the numbers.

It should be noted that it's unlikely that liberals ever read. Maybe that's why they're so clueless?

Are these not the same chumps that "produced" the Reagan fantasy?

So we have a Hilldabeast fantasy and a Reagan fantasy now. Each was designed to help liberals/socialists build election momentum.

Liberals don't have to read her book. As the Borg Queen, Hillary's knowledge is automatically part of their collective consciousness.

Whoops. I forgot to hide a few of them.

The local B & N still has them 30% off, and every one I see, I do my best to hide that hideous, Botoxed face.

I'm soooo bad.

After eating at McDonalds, I make a beeline for Borders to browse this book with my greasy fingers. "oops"

"Oh how they laughed when Sen. Hillary Clinton sat down to write.."

She did no such thing. She had three ghostwriters, and she still had to lie her @ss off.

Deception involved with something to do with Hillary? I am shocked, I tell you, shocked!

Deeply saddened, too.

How many pallets of books did the DNC buy as a covert political campaign fund contribution?

And...they still count it as a sale if someone has no intention to read the book...like if someone bought it for fireplace starter material, or to keep in the outhouse, or line the bird cage with a few pages...

I respectfully disagree. No one on this planet is as evil and manipulating as that woman, Miss Rodham.

As O'Rieley has been pointing out, Nieslen numbers do not count book sales are discount outlets such as Walmart & Costco.

Gee, and how many of those copies sold went to mass buys by the DNC, libraries, Hillie, her cronies. Bestseller lists are such a scam.

1.5 million is still a hell of a lot of books to sell. Many best selling titles do a lot less well. Hillary is widely hated, but she is also widely worshipped by certain kinds of people. I don't know if they actually read the book, but they evidently bought it.

I think it was a kind of political gesture, to line and and buy the book those first few weeks. After all, clinton's results at the polls indicated that roughly 30% of the country is nuts. Many of them are probably just on the welfare plantation, but there are probably millions of ideological zealots out there.
