...Rep. Loretta Sanchez, who represents Republican-leaning Orange County in California... First of all, I can remember when referring to Orange County as "Republican-leaning" would be as ludicrous as referring to Adolph Hitlery Rodham Clinton as "left-leaning": Orange County was once easily the MOST Republican populous county in the entire U.S.A.
But that was before the "Reconquista" invasion that is drowning California, and Orange County has hardly been immune. Sanchez' district has been carefully crafted to place whites in other districts. The big surprise is not that Sanchez wins here, but that Bob Dornan (defeated via vote fraud in 1996) was able to win in this district as long as he did. The lines were changed during the 2001 redistricting, but they are not much different from the lines Dornan had to run in.

Gene Taylor is a good guy. He votes against the GOP wishes only when his vote won't make a difference. This strategy allows him to:
1. Keep his democrat voters in a conservative area of the state, and
2. Allows us on the coast to have, in effect, a conservative vote.
Blinnie, on the other hand, can go straight to hell.

Bennie Thompson was in a very safe gerrymandered district for several terms but lost some votes when Ms went from 5 to 4 seats. You just don't know what a God send it would be to get rid of him.

If I could think of a place worse than hell THAT would be a good place for Bennie

Two members of congress that could easily be defeated, if, and that is a big 'if', if the national GOP were to push the state GOP to find and support two pro-life, pro-Family candidates, would be allen and michuad of Maine.

Now this is really confusing. How can somebody with an AL flag know what's going on in Maine.

"Gene Taylor is a good guy" " He votes against the GOP wishes only when his vote won't make a difference"
I think you have it bass akwards. If one looks closely at his votes, he votes WITH the GOP only when his vote will not change the outcome. He voted for Nancy Pelosi. I have been watching him for years. He is a rabid Dem and if one goes to his to his local affairs he always attacks the Pubs. The problem is,here on the coast he has the press fooled and they always carry his water, particulary Dave Elliot.
Watch for George Payne to challenge him.

Michaud I would agree with; Maine's second Congressional district almost voted for G.W. Bush in 2002, and Michaud (who claims to be pro-life) won a narrow victory in 2002 over pro-abortionist Republican Kevin Raye.
If we can do better than Raye, the Pubbies might be able to make Michaud a one-termer. Michaud isn't the worst Rat in Congress, but the Republicans ought to do all they can to contest marginal districts such as this one.
I may be a pessimist, but I think we're stuck with ultra-lib Tommy Allen for a while in CD#1. Portland has lately developed an affinity for San Fagcisco-style institutions and politicians. Allen fits well there.

You may have a point. I'll have to look into that.
I am not familiar with George Payne. Any relation to Clyde Payne (regional OSHA director?)

George Payne is the current Sheriff of Harrison County. He has the same job that Larkin Smith (R), Taylors(D)predecessor, who was killed in a plane crash while in office.Recently George Payne's cousin Wayne, Chief of Poiice announced his retirement from Gulfport Police Dept. and is going to work for Harrison County Sheriff Dept.
This is what makes me think George will run against Taylor.

If I'm not there in time to work FOR Bennie's opponent, I sure hope I'm there in time to vote AGAINST Bennie Thompson.

You have the Greek guy from Lewiston, his name escapes me, he is pro-life and pro-family. And you have the guy who insist on riding a bike, Cambell I think, he is good too. And you have a real spoiler a guy named John Michale in Auburn. Any of those three, if you could get past the collins/snowe proabortion leftwing leaders of the GOP up there could clean michuads clock.
As for the first, You had a guy running last time, he got 35% with litteraly no support from the GOP. Give him a little help and you would sweep allen out in a heart beat.
You guys in Maine are to close to the froest to see the trees. Problem is the mass folks have the money and the newspapers and the tv stations, but, you guys got independence and guts. For Yankess that is.
Merry Christmas
