[history]
WASHINGTON -- Former Democratic Rep. Gary Condit wants $209 million from the tabloid newspapers he says ruined his reputation.
Odds are, he won't get it. In his latest lawsuit against three tabloids, Condit is asking for something far beyond what others have ever actually received for winning libel judgments.

Hahaha, I had a hard time with the key words. All the ones I wanted to use would have gotten the thread pulled.

Condit does not deserve a dime. He ruined his own reputation when he lied and actively tried to destroy evidence in a murder investigation.
Furthermore, all those kool-aid drinking democrats who defended him just because he has a 'd' next to his name ought to be ashamed of themselves. (David Corn comes to mind)

I think that Condit is as guilty as sin.
He escaped all early questioning.

Well, it's hard to see how he can screw up his life any worse than he has already, but this is a pretty good way to go about it. It will only serve to remind people about the Chandra Levy murder and his own sleazy behavior.

I hope he wins & wins big. These rags take great liberty with the truth to attract readers (who I have no idea). I also hope the Ramsey's win their suit against FNC. Maybe then we won't need to hear; Kobe, Peterson, Jacko... 24/7.
Open speculation is one thing. But to print/broadcast the presumed guilt of persons either charged or not is imo criminal.

What's he worried about? His wife sued and got money. Besides he has probably stolen more than any of us could ever make in a lifetime.

Condit's undoubtedly hoping they'll settle to get him off their backs and he'll get himself some quick cash. I'm hoping the tabs don't give in. Discovery alone would be a hoot...

Guilty of adultery not murder. The D.C. police know who did it but, can't make their case. Wonder of wonders it was an illegal from south america.

"...I think he should just shutup ...."
Why? That would mean letting liars get away with lying & encourage them to continue making things up. Who knows next time they might start lying about GWB with impunity.
Allowing lies to go unpunished only cheapens us all - look beyond the person being slammed, concentrate on the principle.

Aw, poor Condit. Gee, if he had cared about a true reputation, maybe he shouldn't have allegedly killed his girlfriend. Maybe then we wouldn't have had to find out that he shaves his whole body, poses for photos in chaps, wants his girlfriends to meet him with no I.D., has DNA all over his apartment, and has a back up plan to have his body moved if he ever dies en flagrante. Because then he would have his good reputation.

Maybe as a Christmas Gift for his family, this S.O.B. can drop his lawsuits and avoid putting his family through further unwanted attention and heartache.
