Animals have no "rights."

True.

A people have only those "rights" which they will forcefully demand.

In practice, that is what usually happens. However, the premise upon which this country was founded is that we have certain inalienable rights, regardless of what government exists, if any. The Federal Government was borne to protect these rights, not dole them out. Since tyranny never sleeps, the wannabes have tried to invert the process here to have the Fed Gov be the diviner of rights. Scarey!

The people of our nation are slowly giving up "rights" because they fail to understand that.

True. I am with you on this.

It isn't brain surgery nor is it supernatural.

It is not difficult to understand. Yet, without the supernatural aspect, we are just natural. Why do we have rights over chimpanzees-also natural? Who is the authority that gets the final word on this? If it is simply consensus by any form, would that not be a game of "let's pretend we naturals are supernatural-divine-omnicient-omnipotent"?

The supernatural aspect is a culmination (direct and indirect) of the views of the Christian Bible. Ok, you do not care for that. No harm done-no harm given. Yet, the absolute of the supernatural aspect of our rights makes these certain rights inalienable. In other words, you do not have to be of the Christian faith at all to appreciate and respect the divine nature of our position in life.

Why do we have rights over chimpanzees

Because they haven't gotten together to forcefully demand "rights" too.

Who is the authority that gets the final word on this?

Those willing and able to enforce their desire for "rights"

the absolute of the supernatural

Ah, sure, ok. ;-)

Indeed, your beliefs on the supernatural basis of inalienablity is a "no harm done-no harm given" instance.

In other words, you do not have to be of the Christian faith at all to appreciate and respect the divine nature of our position in life.

Beliefs become problems when they are posed as being 'absolutes'..

Do we agree?

"Animals have no "rights."

Herbivores have the right to be eaten by carnivores and omnivores. Carnivores and omnivores have the right to be eaten by the worms.
