I'd be crying if they didnt fry him. Justice requires an appropriate penalty for ending a dozen lives. Somehow 30 years of cable TV, small cells, and bland food just doesnt do 'justice' to the crime.

If Malvo gets death in another state or another jurisdiction, they'll go through the appeals & then stick the needle in him.

Alabama has some very solid evidence against Malvo, more than they had in this case.

He can be tried in each state where a murder occurred. Each murder is a separate offense. And each state is sovereign over the crimes committed within that state.

If he works in prison and happens to get a job with a pay slot (.10 per day or some such amount) they will take something from him every month. They will never collect all of it.

I believe that Malvo should fry for what he did.

That said, I worked in a prison for a while, and got to know a young man (age 23) who was in for murder.

He had fallen in with the wrong crowd when he was 16, and killed a man. I don't know the details, but from working with him on a construction crew, I was convinced that he would be OK on the outside as a free man.

After the OJ fiasco, it's hard not to by cynical, but I still believe that we have to rely on the judge and the jury in these cases.

He did? I missed that. He did try to escape from the Rockville, MD jail. Crawled up into the ceiling panels. I was driving by at the time and you could tell something was going on, police everywhere.

I can't wait til Alabama gets him. Doubt Maryland would fry him, but it depends on the county.
