An attorney for Rush Limbaugh charged Monday that the conservative talk show host was being blackmailed by the Florida couple whose allegations triggered an ongoing investigation into his purchases of painkillers.

During a hearing over whether prosecutors should have access to Limbaugh's medical records, attorney Roy Black said Limbaugh paid "extreme amounts of money" to Wilma Cline, his former housekeeper, and her husband, first for pills and then for extortion. Black alleged that the Clines had threatened to go public with information about Limbaugh's drug use unless they received $4 million.

"The State Attorney is reduced to using accounting manuvers to cobble together some form of finanical fabrication."

"...attorney Roy Black said Limbaugh paid "extreme amounts of money" to Wilma Cline, his former housekeeper, and her husband, first for pills..."

Rush seems to be scared enough about something to have his lawyer say that he bought drugs from those people, so I suspect there is more around then you realize.

"extreme amounts of money " can account for the need to make multiple withdrawls under the limit - which happens to be exactly the reason why the law was passed ...

Actually if you treat rush the same as everyone else, he should walk away scott free. This is how FL's special drug treatment court is supposed to work.

Really?A young kid in my area of Florida was recently sentenced for possession of about a dozen Oxycontin

He got two years in prison

But then, he couldn't afford Roy Black to defend him

Which is another reason why the "War on Drugs and the Constitution" makes me sick-the injustice of it

You are wrong about the inner workings of Palm Beach or the FL courts. Rush made no violation of the financial transaction law. This was discussed in many threads.

I want far more information, if provable you could never seperate the drug dealers purchases from rush's personal use. Additionally, if I were prosecutor I would be wanting a serious explanation about the alleged blackmail.

If I were the maid's lawyer, I would be shutting my client up to the bare minimum of cooperation until the imunity is extened to the blackmail charge.

Newsflash, it has ALWAYS been more than we realize. THis fits with Rush saying that there is more here than he could talk about. There is the clinton lawyer shopping the story to the enquirer, there this the finaicial unit investigation in what should be a narcotics unit investigation. We are just trying to piece together as much information outside of the inadequacy of the media to give proper reporting.

Was it his first offense?
Was the drug charge his only charge?
Were there other charges? (ie resisting arrest with violence, battery on an law enforcement officer)
Did he have the statutory specific amount to make him a dealer?
Was he caught trying to sell them to an officer?
Is the two years a result of trial or plea?

You don't need a roy black or anyone specific to qualify for drug court. You just have to be a first time offender.

If he qualifies, the clerk's office should automatically funnel him into the drug court system. Sometimes a qualified person will end up in regular criminal court but when they show qualification they are transfered.

"Rush made no violation of the financial transaction law. This was discussed in many threads."

... and I suppose your ability to "piece together as much information outside of the inadequacy of the media to give proper reporting" extends to being able to say for a certainty that "Rush made no violation of the financial transaction law" ?

Fox is reporting the DA was to charge him with doctor shopping.

Just think what doctor shopping would do to national health care.

Can't have people choosing their own doctor(s).

Rush is proof postive that junkies are a menace to society and need to be locked away

Hey! Learn something new everyday. Thanks. By the way, you're not really an ass.

I agree with you. If all that was available, we would have been deluged with the videos, etc.

And did it ever occur to you that such laws violate our rights in the first place? I don't know if Rush is guilty but I do know one thing, people like you will cause the rest of us to come back under the yoke of tyranny.

Since you introduced him as evidence in your argument it is incumbent on you to list other particulars.

Did he have a rap sheet ?
