[history]
FOLLOWING reports of tension between popular WABC talk-show hosts Batchelor & Alexander, Batchelor was expected to announce last night that his three-year radio partnership with Paul Alexander is history. "John Batchelor will tell listeners . . . that he is going to host the show by himself," said John McConnell of ABC Radio, which syndicated the WABC-based team.

But Monica Crowley is actually kinda young even with her Nixon/CFR background has much to learn in how to make sausage.
At least she come right out as most talk show hosts do and tells callers she has a right wing viewpoint, unlike Lesley Stahl at CBS who claims she knows of no political bent of anyone at CBS.
You also assume many listeners are as discerning as you are. Many here on FR think B&A was wonderful and balanced and mystical.
You are dead on about GW's distractors, many here as "Pure Conservatives", or "LBs" here on FR.
Like the 8-9-10-11? Dwarves: no solutions, just criticism.
Clinton's platform/agendas may have been lying crud, but at least he lied more convincingly.
Unlike many, you tend to undermisunderestimate yerself.
I rarely post many comments now, mostly choosing graphic barbs.
My little spurt of commentary is a throwback.
I will shortly refrain from my pompous words one again.
Right now I need coffee.
Lotsa coffee.

Unlike some others
I do not fear
that my moral purity will be impaired
by listening to people
who do not share my political outlook
if I feel
I may learn useful facts
as I have
every night
on the Batchelor Alexander program.

I occassionally listen as I have on WABC, two TVs, my MSNTV, and a an FM or CD for music as I write or scan the web.
You can filter out the garbage and find some gems.
Many are like NPR freaks and believe all as gospel.
Check out another Jaywalk or Sean's Flipper asking who the VP is to college grads outside MSG.
Better asking tourists from India.
At least they know US history and politics.

I might mention another flaming leftist
Claudia Rossette
of the Wall Street Journal.
Her frequents reports
on China and North Korea
in themselves
have been reason enough
to stay tuned to the BA program.

they have reports no one else will even consider putting on, as most of the media takes their lead from the new york times. yes, they do allow even liberals like kristina vandenheuvel to speak. so what, its good to hear the other side foaming at the mouth.

Do you remember the one where Flipper interviewed the homeless man who went to jail for killing his ten year old sister's rapist?

I didn't care for Alexander, so this is an improvement.
Under the new format without Alexander, I heard Bachelor give a narration of the preparation for the battle of Trenton, December 25, 1776. As he described the desparate situation of the revolutionary army and Washington's decision to cross the Delaware River and attack the enemy, I was mesmerized. I don't usually like the way they play music over their news segments, but he used it to good effect in this piece. It really was riveting radio.

This show was basically Art Bell plus politics. Always sounded like two hairdressers hijacked Art's show.

Bring back The Buzz. I thought Richard Bey was hilarious, and though he was on the left, he was somewhat of an honest lefty(he ended up despising Clinton).
And a great theme song:
"What's that buzz,
Everybody's talkin' 'bout it,
What's that buzz,
Everybody's talkin' 'bout it..."

Assuming that what you are hearing from Batchelor are 'facts' is a mighty risky assumption.
