She would be the presumptive front-runner by virtue of her VP candidacy, win or lose.

All you have to do to win the Democratic nomination is move hard left. That is what Dean has done. The 20percent of the voters that are hard leftists are in second Heaven. They have a candidate with which they agree on every point. They will go throuh hell in a Gasoline suit to get Dean the Nomination.

Dean would not offer Hillary the VP nomination any more than he would offer it to Dick Cheney. HIllary is Deans mortal enemy. Why do you think the Clintons have done all they could to try to stop him. Wes Clarke is the Clinton's efforts to stop dean. They have falied. The left most democrats are a majority of democrats and they are for Dean. The fact that a majority of democrats are only 20 percent of the voters makes no difference. It gets Dean the nomination.

Hillary is resigned to running in 2008. The only reason she does not want Howard Dean to get the nomination is Dean plans to take control of the DNC. Dean has said Terry McAufull and the rest of the Clinton clan will be kicked ou of the DNC if Dean gets the nomination. That means HIllary could have money and party control problems before 2008.

The reason Gore endorsed Dean is he plans to go after that very liberal 20 percent of the voters that will nominate Dean next summer. If Gore can hold on to them by working his butt of for Dean, he will have that 20 percent behind him in 2008. That means Gore can beat Hillary in the primaries in 2008 and Gore can run again. If you think gore has given up his ambition you are nuts. And if you think hillary can out left flank him you are nuts.

The Clintons are up sh*t creek with out a paddle. Gore if he holds his far left position and works for Dean even in Deans massive defeat th 20 percent hard left will reward Gore with the Democratic nomination in 2008.

Dean like other ideological candidates such as Bryan, McGovern and Goldwater will get the crap beat out of him. Then the far left will think about Gore almost winning in 2000 and give him the nomination in 2008.

Hillary is toast.

Actually, FDR was the vice presidential candidate on the losing ticket in 1920, not 1924. That's the only time in American history that a defeated V.P. candidate came back to win the Presidency. Usually they fade off into obscurity or do American Express commercials, like Barry Goldwater's running mate.

I really have trouble seeing Hillary, a committed Marxist, as being to the right of anyone

My comment was in reference to perceptions, not to ideology.

Ramirez is their token conservative editorial cartoonist

He must be. He clearly has seen (and maybe even handled) actual guns; the drawing is fairly accurate.
