"They didn't call it Camelot..."
You got that part of the sentence right."Camelot" was a Jackie creation AFTER the death of JFK to try and contibute to the mythology.

That's a very fair point actually. Anyone got good pictures of Jackie vs. Laura, both at the age Jackie was when she was First Lady, and at the age Laura is? That would be an interesting comparison.

Brian is easy on the eyes and I love his candor and up front wit! He's funny, but I don't think he always means to be he is just saying the obvious.
Laura and George are a really handsome couple and she has all the style and class needed to be first lady. George has plenty of gravitas! His is indeed the First Man in Rome.
Did anyone notice the absence of envelopes in these pictures? Amazing, when everyone used to come up to our former first co president and hand her envelopes at events such as these. You know, the ones she never questioned or looked at just passed along to McAwfull.
How wonderfully refreshing this Whitehouse and it's occupants are!
Merry Christmas everyone! God Bless Us All!!

Ending the name in "a" (the feminine form) is typical of the Russian language.

Glad you did. I watched Fox & Friends this morning also. Brian typically brightens up my morning. He was a riot describing the WH party. LOL

In terms of beauty, Laura Bush can give her predecessor from forty years ago (Jackie Kennedy) a real run for the money.

Jackie was only 31 when she became first lady.. and despite wide set eyes was a very glamorous woman IMHO. she was very classy & was very much a robot woman in my mind. She had the "breeding" to do the "right thing" .. which wasn't always the SMART thing.
I have seen some pictures of Laura in those years..and she too is a knock out only in a more of a "girl next door" way rather than an Oleg Cassini way.
And beauty like art is in the eyes of the beholder.. I think Dubya is well, pretty handsome .. and there are some that think he is corny/ugly & think #43 is hot. (UGH).. so guess we will never have a consensus on Laura vs whomever but I think all on this thread agree that she is truly a lady and a beautiful one at that .. in every sense of the word.

Ahhh! Eggs! Unless I'm mistaken, you got your moniker from an old Robert Crumb comic. Ahhh, youth!!!! Ahhh, statute of limitations! hahaha!
I'm in agreeement with you about our hotter than hot first lady. Not only is she a supreme intellectual with a knock out figure, not only is she a deeply moral woman, just oozing with electricity - those exquisite mezmer-eyes! They glisten with the stuff of endless fantasy. Our president is a lucky man indeed.
Your new pal,
YDA

She always seemed kind of phony and 'put on' to me. I almost fainted when I heard her speak. I think that's when the phony impression came into my feelings about her.

Laura is a beautiful woman for sure. I am sure many saw her pictures when she was young, quite the knock out. While Jackie Kennedy was always noted for her beauty, and she was attractive, Laura has a natural beauty that Jackie didn't have.

Jackie was gracious, classy and beautiful, blueblooded and made a wonderful first lady. Jack was loved by almost everybody and he and Jackie made a beautiful couple.
It is the inbetween years, LBJ, then Jimmah and his womenfolk, followed by the Arkansas grifters that has decimated the Party of JFK.
George and Laura have thier very own personna, a bit more earthy, a bit more reserved, a bit closer to each other and their God and a lot more human and approachable. Aside from being good looking and happy people.
When Hillary Smiles I feel threatened, like a cocktail olive. It is not a happy face. When Bill smiles it resembles nothing more than a leer, a smirk. When he hangs his head and bites his lower lip, I cringe.

All the "huge" pictures automatically downsized on my computer. It may be because of the software I'm using, or it may be how I have the software programed. Interesting?
