I couldn't help but be left with the inference that a jump straight to code red was given very serious consideration by these guys during those 72 hours of deliberation.

What gets to me is they say there are no specific threats. Yet, distinct targets are being mentioned and not in a vague fashion ie: bridges, monuments etc. But names of facilities and methods of delivery. So once again they know more than they are telling us.

I'm also considering that my own nieghborhood would be on a pretty good list of targets to hit on 25 December. Considering it's a place that is always on national news that day, with a dense crowd of a ten-twenty thousand, and no gates to access i it -- access is open..

You are correct...I think I read that negotiations with Libya were 9 mos. or so in the making. Maybe Quadafi (sic?) got a good look at Hussein's public humiliation and vanity got the better part of him...maybe he decided to give something really important up?

Just thinking about Libya -- if at that Arav conference a few months back Quedaffy caught wind of a plan to use nukes in the US -- why then he would be smart to skee-daddle away, lest Tripoli and other inhabited parts of Libya be turned to glass.
