I am comfortable that LA "had a meeting" and considered opening the EOC..! I guess when you are broke, you can't protect the public!

MSNBC said this this the first time the alert level has been raised on a weekend.I noticed that too...

"MSNBC said this this the first time the alert level has been raised on a weekend."
Monday morning headlines are the most effective.

We were switching between the Bills and the Cowboys, so I might have missed it if our local affiliate dropped out for the national feed. Interesting choice if they didn't.I was back and forth between the NY and LA CBS stations, and they both ran a crawl on the screen, with a break-in around half-time.

After trying to read through this thread, having just gotten home at 6:00, I am shocked at the mocking tone of so many Freepers.
Good for you, Dog, reminding people of 9/11. The feds are damned if they do and damned if they don't.
Let's all cut them a little slack and if any of the whining people can think of something the government can do better, tell THEM. Don't just complain here, which does NO good whatsoever.

And I think only the 4th time we've raised the level this high since 9/11. In 26 months, that's not an overuse of the threat level system.

This thread is shocking to read, from Freepers. I cannot believe what I'm reading here.
Perhaps we have some Dean supporters...

Have to say I did not read all the posts just scanned.
If we were attacked again, Howie Dean would be happy,I can hear him say "See I told you we were not safer after capturing Saddam"
In fact since 9-11, this administration has been saying we very likely would be attacked again, but Howie would use it
as an election tool for himself.
Just my very humble opinion of course.

Is he always late for news conferences?I don't notice. Anything less forty-five minutes or more late is automatically filed under "Doing Better Than Clinton".
To: Peach
No.......these aren't Dean supporters its the crowd who always shows up on these threads whining about what Bush hasn't done yet.

Hope you read my #707, too. I'm disgusted with the whining on this thread, and good for you reminding people how they felt on 9/11.

"...but now I will have to figure out something else to do on Christmas Eve..."
Ideas: attend Christmas Eve Service, rent and watch "It's a Wonderful Life," "White Christmas," and "Miracle on 34th Street," stay at home and drink eggnog, listen to Christmas music, etc.
