Daleel seem to be saying they have thermo nukes on timers in hidden places -- caves, waterbourne or underwater, and high places (high-rises in cities) -- abd where maximum destructive effect will be acheived. On timers, but that they are able with some difficulty to get to them. They being some deep cover cells they can hardly communicate with, yet who will back off if high-authority makes some very public committments per their demands.
He's been the boy who cried wolf constantly, but that is how I read this particular note.

Dollar sinking at the open as expected.

The problem is there is nothing to analyze: "Be vigilant" is useless non-information.
Either there is no credible threat and the warning is pure ass-coverage, or people are being left in the dark - and in danger - for the sake of government priorities.

I'm impressed with MSNBC's coverage -- they have more experts on there (like Steve Emerson) that I actually learn something from, unlike FOX where its like listening to a bull session down at the local watering hole.I agree- Fox has generally gone downhill in the last few months

If you are sitting at home posting on your puter, I think you can stand down and boil water if it helps make your tea.OK. Just as long as he doesn't expect me to run out and buy some more MREs.
I'm still trying to whittle down the inventory I had in my Y2K stockpile.

"what shall we do at Orange that we don't do at Yellow?"

Be extra-vigilant and report anything suspicious -- that is what Ridge said, and it makes sense. Alert people could help law enforcement prevent attacks.
The raised alert also triggers more serious activities on the part of law enforcement. If they didn't tell the people about it, them people would be complaining that the government should tell us, when they do tell us, what they can, then people complain about that.

but, shouldn't I do that at Yellow?
To: bvw
total BS. remember, on 9/11, they had to hijack the weapons they used. the idea that they have several hidden nukes here is nuts in my opinion, considering the level of sophistication of their other attacks, which mostly involve truck bombs.

You're in big trouble now.
The Anti-Humor Police are watching this thread
You have been warned
To: FairOpinion
If they had a nuke they would not bother bringing it to the US when Israel is some much closer.

Absolutely -- we always need to be vigilant and very aware of our surroundings. The High level is a reminder to be even more so.
Most people are very unaware of their surroundings, people in the US got used to actually not paying any attention to what others are doing, because it's "none of our business" if some strange people may appear to be doing something strange.
We can no longer afford to continue to have that attitude.

I guess you don't watch much of Fox as they *GONG* whenever the wind shifts. It is continuous and quite annoying.I watch them all the time and have posted before my complaints about their abuse of their "Alert" system. But the impending guest arrivals for the Jackson party really had me rolling my eyes.

I must keep a sense of humor due to my proximity to MacDill AFB. And, they're my credit union too. I don't want UBL to get his hands on my hefty bank account.

yes, if they had access to nuclear weapons on 9/11, they would *not* have hesitated to use them ...
eventually, Musharraf of Pakistan will fall because of natural causes, or he'll be killed by radicals just like Anwar Sadat ... I remind everyone that this is the only confirmed Islamic nuclear power on the face of the Earth at this moment ... and they have many people sympathetic to bin Laden ...
someone correct me if I am wrong, but weren't Ramzi Yousef and Khaled Shaikh Mohammed both found in Pakistan?
To: The Turbanator
Blowing up Israel wouldn't really damage the US and they want to destroy the US, along with Israel, of course.
But right now they are more afraid of the US, than they are of Israel, hence they put more effort into trying to hurt and destroy us.

I will try to catch an exact quote from the 4 PM CBS radio news. I believe he said the officials, (FBI, CIA, DHS) will review this specific information and may up the alert to red alert if necessary, or something like that.
