It started even before the second question -- his response to the first one was rambling and confusing.

The first question he answered relatively coherently but I couldn't help but think, is he drunk?

Then when they came back to them for the second question, and he had that leering grin, and said "I wanna kiss you" well, there was no question about it.

Joe Namath long ago earned the lifetime perk of getting drinks bought for him at Jets games.

His money's no good in the VIP section, and he's probably got free roam of the stadium.

I couldn't find an audio clip of Cosell's MNF broadcast, but I did find one of Harrison Ford who was apparently sloshed while presenting at the Golden Globes.......

Broadway Joe appeared smashed.

Howard Cossell was drunk enough that he vomited all over "Dandy Dan" Meredith's new cowboy boots. This hacked Don off, and led to some of the barbs in the broadcast booth from that point on.

The gal may have been trying to make sure her shoes remained inviolate.

I watch FB games on TV with the sound OFF, so I didn't hear Joe's comments. I saw him grinning and bending in the direction of the interviewer. She also had a huge grin on her face. It all looked strange to me, but I payed no attention to it all until I read these posts.

I didn't see the interview, but from what I gather here, I have to blame the interviewer babe for interviewing Joe Willie in the first place. She had to know he was drunk beforehand. Her fault all the way for even going on camera with my buddy Joe Willie in the first place.

Namath's got a big problem. I remember when he missed Marino's big party at Pro Player stadium a couple of years ago. Namath made it to the stadium, but that was it.

Yep, he was drunk, but thats just Joe. He turned 60 this year. Hope he's around for many more.
