Dean's Conflicting Iraq Comments Draw Scrutiny
A secretive political group financed in part by labor unions has raised $500,000 to air anti-Howard Dean ads in three early primary states, angering the Dean campaign and drawing sharp criticism from campaign finance reform advocates.
Two of the unions renounced the effort Tuesday, saying the ads including one featuring an image of Osama bin Laden are not what they thought they were paying for.

My guess is that this particular union does not like the socialized medicine that Dean enacted in VT.

...he was endorsed eight times by the NRA, he supported Republican Medicare cuts in the '90s, and lastly he supported the NAFTA free trade agreement... You can say all the nice things you want about him, I still don't like him.

I think Mr. Dean better watch his back.

It's Dr. Dean.

The Dims at DU, with tinfoil hats firmly in place, think the ads are all a big sneaky Carl Rove stealth anti-campaign.

Yeah...I saw the ad and they even say Dean can't compete with Bush's foreign policy experience. I thought it was a GOP ad before they mentioned who put it together.

I haven't seen it. I got a few emails about it wanting to know if we evil conservatives had paid for the ads.
Regardless of Gephardless's denials, he is probably the one behind this.
Apparently some of the candidates have paid for some focus groups of moderates (the group that can put you in office or keep you out). Those moderates in those groups must be very concerned about terrorism and Dean, Kerry and Clark trying to minimize the war on terrorism. So these ads are a desperate attempt by their side to cut Dean's feet right out under him.
One can only hope the insane lunatics make Dean their candidate and poster boy for 2004.

These out of country contributions could really harm Dean and other Rats who are seeking them.
Again, it will not matter with the truly insane Rat Lunatics, who make up that 25 percent of the American electorate which is a majority in the Democratic Party (as you noted).
However, it will drive the moderates away even more. Then the 10 to 15% of the rats who still want America to be safe will stay home on election day in 2004 or they will cross over and vote for GW!

I was about to paste in exactly the same passage. There are a number of Democrat players behind this, but it smells like the clintons to me. And Jones, the key player in this group, is evidently a clintonoid.
