The Libertarian party got some great ideas. Unfortunately they're so full of nutcases who think that total free trade will bring about world peace.
The LP is also in favor of a weaker U.S. So if China invades Taiwan and North Korea nukes the South, the LP's position would be akin to one shrugging it's shoulders.

Harry Browne must have been miserable seeing the Iraqis dancing the streets after Saddam was captured.
Perhaps he needed to live under this ruthless dictator and have had some of his friends and family dropped in acid baths or fed through plastic shredders to get his inverted morals straight.

Yes, and if the anti-war protesters had gotten their way, several hundred Americans and thousands of Iraqis would be alive today, instead of dead. No, maybe those Iraqis would be alive but thousands of others would be dead. Saddam was killing thousands a month, and had for 30 years.
At the cost of a few hundred lives, We toppled Iraq and Afghanistan. That puts us in a position to intimidate the regimes in Iran and Syria and to prop up Pakistan and prevent it going fundamentalist. We have gained a generation in keeping radical Islam non nuclear.
Gosh-a-Rootie that isn't why Bush said we were doing it.
Sometimes in international relations you can't say what you mean without disrupting things.
What matters is that what we did was good for the US.

Harry Brown is the evident symptom of the main reason why I'm not a Libertarian.
He's as bad as almost any Dem sometimes.
"Protests are outlawed"???? WTF?

This article explains why Libertarian candidates rountinely garner only 2-3% of the vote in every election cycle.

Oh yes, the old Browne who went against all Libertarian rules and did accept matching funds on the campaign trail.
Libertarians always back losers. Who is their candidate this year?
To: Commie Basher

7. The occupiers have imposed strict gun-control laws, preventing ordinary citizens from defending themselves making robberies, rapes, and assaults quite common. Bullshit.
We have banned crew served weapons and grenades.
We have prohibited carrying automatic weapons in the street.
Iraqis can keep AK-47s at home and may carry pistols on the street.
Would to God we had only those restrictions in this country.

I hate the Libertarians. They gave Jim Doyle here in WI the governorship on a silver platter.
A bunch of fringe fanatic losers. They'll never get more than .0000000000000000000000000000000001 of the vote.
To: Howlin
This "crap" will give conservatives, who are unhappy with Bush, second thoughts about voting 3rd party next year.

Try a half a percent.

Harry Browne very nearly managed to get Gore elected in 2000. He took more than 16,000 votes in Florida << It would be interesting to see what would happen if the LP nominated this guy for a third time in 2004. If the Dems nominated a candidate like Edwards or Lieberman, Browne would probably take more votes from the RATs than he would from Bush (assuming Browne kept up this rhetoric and focused on the war issue)
Sadly though, I think Gary Nolan will be the LP nominee for 2004. The next Presidential election cycle is projected to be an "up" year for the Libertarians (Browne did lousy in 2000 so anyone else they nominate would likely improve on his showing)

You know I like a lot of libertarian positions on individual liberty... more individual liberties, less socially sponsored "safety nets".
This guy Browne... appears to be a MORON devolving into an outright imbecile.
Somebody get the net!
To: Commie Basher
Apparently the Afghan campaign has not stopped the flow of Mr. Browne's poppy squeezin's.
