I guess I don't either. If he doesn't like this forum, and if he knows that they'll probably try to paint him in a bad light, why give them ammo?
If I were him, I'd have pitched the interview to Brokaw. While Brokaw is definitely a lib, he has interviewed GW a couple of times and did so fairly, pointedly and respectfully. To be blunt about it, while I didn't perceive Diane to be the B.... interviewer many posters here do, she's not smart enough to conduct an interview of this magnitude, she's just not.

I don't have a problem with her clothes. She is a very attractive woman, and has a nice figure. I'm always happy to see a woman like Diane dress in a feminine way. She has fabulous legs, I'm jealous of those legs. LOL Love the shoes too.
Keep watching. I honestly felt she seemed to be nagging and trying to browbeat GW.
In all honesty, I don't think this is his best forum. He is much better, in fact, he is fantastic, when he gives a speech in front of groups. He is passionate, in a forum like that.

All you need to see is the first half to know DS is so far up the tree it's ridiculous. Loved it when the Prez got a little got under the collar with her.

Great post your #196.
At the beginning of the war, some leftists here at the U of Chicago campus posted pictures of children saying, "Here are the people your bombs are hurting." I put up these pictures of Saddam's gas victims with the following text. Of course, mine were torn down.
Saddam loves
The little children
All the children of the world
Your picture above was here.
Well, except for the Kurdish children in Halabja
And the Shia children in Basra
And the Marsh Arab children in southeastern Iraq
And the children of his political enemies
And the children beaten and raped by his son Uday
And the children whose feet he has had broken bone by bone
And the children whose eyes he has had gouged out
To oppose the liberation of Iraq is to support
The systematic torture of
The Iraqi people

May we all be blessed with another four years of GWB!Amen, mombonn. He must be re-elected. The alternative is unthinkable!

"If he doesn't like this forum, and if he knows that they'll probably try to paint him in a bad light, why give them ammo?" What forum? If you've been paying attention, practically every press person in the "media" tries to portray him in a bad light. We know it, and he knows it. What is endlessly amusing to some of us, is when lightweights like Diane Sawyer come up with "shows" like this. It perfectly proves the point that Bernie Goldberg has made in his last two books. And the American people get it. This interview did nothing to damage the President.

Is it just me or is the picture heavily filtered? It was not only heavily filtered but also poorly produced and badly edited. And yet GWB came across as unfazed and focused as ever.

Did you notice the Ann Richards' quote they chose to air? I doubt if Bush saw any of the clips interspersed with the interview. I think this is contemtpible journalism, if one could describe it as such.

She was not a speech writer her specific role was as an aide to Presidential press secretary Ron Ziegler in Richard Nixon's administration.
So she may or may not have been a conservative at some point and time but if you follow her carrier and her associations she has long since abandoned those principals.
Her husband is big time liberal Mike Nicols, one of the producers of the Clinton loving movie Primary Colors. They're also big DNC contributors.

Thanks for stating the obvious. Too bad some can't see the big picture. While Cheney would have chewed Sawyer up and spit her out, W is endearing because he is so "down home" and sincere. I, however, will be glad when the discovered WMD's are rammed down the elite media's throats. Watching them choke and gasp will be worth these torturous interviews.

Bush to Diane It's a leap to faith to understand Nice slam, IMHO.
Not a slam. He was explaining, which is what the point of doing an interview is all about.
I think this is an excellent interview and the president is doing a fabulous job, and with all the nasty reporters out there I think many here have WAY overstated what they perceive as hostility from Sawyer.
I'm still not seeing it, after over 40 minutes in.

I came away from watching the interview admiring him more than ever. He's a good man and it shines through. He's the right man for our time and we are lucky to have him.
To: cyncooper
I'm pretty sure DS doesn't listen to any producer...she's running the show.....she's "jumping the shark"...IMHO....:)

the Clinton loving movie Primary Colors One of the worst movies I ever tried to watch.
