What Should Be Done With Saddam Hussein?
Capitalism Magazine ^ | December 15, 2003 | Thomas Sowell

Posted on 12/16/2003 4:25:40 AM PST by Smile-n-Win

Summary: Since stoning people to death is a tradition in parts of the Middle East, that might be the most appropriate way to execute Saddam Hussein. If each relative of someone murdered by Saddam were allowed to throw a stone, the line might stretch back for miles. Television pictures of that line, broadcast throughout the Arab world, could completely undermine any notion that this is just an American vendetta against Moslems.

Great article!

I was listening to "The Savage Nation" last night when the ABC 'news' came on. The news segway was introduced with: "Sadam Hussein captured", and then immediately went into some alleged Oxford University poll taken in Iraq last October, which purportedly asked 3,000 Iraqis if the capture of Saddam was important to them. The answer, of course, was the drivel about electricity and gasoline being paramount, and Saddam's capture meaning nothing to them. Talk about creating the news, sheesh.

I would do one of two things.

If there is a connection between Sadaam and 9/11 (as I believe there is) then he should be brought to the US, tried on 3,021 counts of accessory to 1st degree murder, then taken to a gallows built in the Pit at Ground Zero and made to dance at the end of a rope for the world to see.

If not that, then what? I'd let him go.
Let him go, you ask? Yep, let him go.
In Northern Iraq.
After issuing all the Kurds a brand-new, all-American Louisville Slugger and announcing the time and place we'll be dropping Saddam off.

I want saddam tried by a military tribunal in gitmo for the deaths of US Service men and women.
Followed by a public execution at the site of the Twin Towers in NYC.
Method of execution : shot by firing squad with bullets dipped in pig fat.
No deadly shots, knee caps, arms etc.
Then let this pathetic excuse of a human being die slowly by bleeding.

Would leave the sentencing to the Iraqi people as has been
suggested by our elected President Bush. But in the meantime
after the intel guys finish --while they helping him remember-- he ought be held in the bloodiest offal strewn
cell where Iraqi were tortured and beat to death.Let the
tortured spirits work on him--and the only visitors allowed
being those that scurry through such places at night. And
perhaps those who suffered at his command. And of course his
interrogaters.

First cut off his Stalin moustache. Then get all the relatives of those killed by Saddam lined up for a couple of miles with a good supply of stones. Tie Saddam behind a camel. Drag him back and forth in front of the line of people- who would throw stones at him- until he is dead.

Alternatively, let people beat him to death with shoes.

I have a bunch of ways for him to face justice but I will present the most logical and most effective:

First, he absolutely must be tried by the Iraqis. They suffered the most and they deserve the justice of his trial. Now, that fact being stated, there would definately be a guilty verdict and the death penality would be imposed. The date, however, would be held "open". We make this little deal with this piece of crud: with every piece of information that he gives us (on WMD, where the billions of buck are, his involvement with terrorism, turning in other terrorists, etc) he buys himself another day/days of life. Of course these tidbits of info would have to be validated, and if false the sword drops that day.

I think it's a win/win situation, except for Saddam. When he has outlived his usefulness we look at the Iragi National Congress and say, "He's all your boys"!

No previous generation was so hopelessly unrealistic that this had to be explained to them.

The psychological makeup of a great many Americans is really pathetic. Can you imagine if the Americans of the 40's during WWII had the psychological makeup of these weak-kneed citizens? It is really sick how these Democrats (and others) are behaving in these times.

Sometimes, when I am real tired and irritable (like right now) I feel like kicking some of their lame a**es for being so weak and anti-American.

On a little bit of a different subject, I wonder what the lefty/liberal newspapers' headlines are going to say the morning after Bush smears the Democrat of choice in 2004!

"Americans Vote Bush and War In"

"Bush Wins, Americans Have Another Temper Tantrum"

"Bush Wins Popular Vote .... This Time"

"Bush Slides By, Democrats Stay Home"

"Colonialism and Bush Win"

"Bush Wins, World Peace Loses", etc.?

He needs to put put on trial, and every Iraqi with a grievance against him should be allowed to enter that grievance into the public record.

Once all the charges have been heard (probably 5-10 years or more, if they spend 8hr/day, 5day/week hearing charges), then let the Iraqis dream up the most horrible death possible for him and consummate the deed.

And tell Saddam about the fate awaiting him now. Let him dread it while he's waiting!

That was my thought too - kind of like that Jean Claude van Damme movie where "rich guys" paid to hunt van Damme in the Crescent City. Give 'ol Saddy a 3-hour lead time in the Kurdish north, then let loose the dogs.

This really puts the PC crowd iin a dither. They are always lecturing us on being culturally sensitve. They defend genital mutilation because it is culturally driven. They want us to respect all other cultures as our equal and not be so judgemental. So I move we respect the Iraqis and let the stoning begin!
