The U.S. military hopes Saddam will clear up allegations that he had chemical and biological weapons and a nuclear weapons program, said U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Mark Hertling of the 1st Armored Division. "I certainly think some of that will come out," Hertling said in an interview with The Associated Press. "I think we'll get some significant intelligence over the next couple of days." We have the intel now, or a General Officer would never have gone on the record like this with an AP reporter.

I would love to be a fly on the wall at these meetings with Saddam.

Interesting.
Regardless of what he's actually telling them, I think Saddam's captors would be telling the press he was singing like a bird, just to put the fear of God (the Christian God) into Sadmans's supporters!

Not only that, but every terrorist in Iraq now lives in fear of being sold out by Saddam. An if they bolt for cover they will be easier to spot.
To: GeneD
Unlikely that Sadaam knows much about operational details. It would be like asking the CEO of GM how cars are built.

I was told on another thread that we are allowed to use sodium penethol for interrogations. Even without it, Saddam's cowardly actions (no shot fired, wanted to negotiate) lead me to believe his defiance will be short lived.

Did amyone hear Monsoor Ijax on FOX last night? He said several key Ba'ath officials were afraid to turn over informaton because Saddam was still on the loose.
This individual has the information on where the WMD are in Iran and Syria/Labanon. They have physical the evidence.
He told Bill he was willing to make a big wager that the information will be coming out soon.

Yesterday Time reported that Saddam was not going to be of any great help. Their anonymous "high level source" had read initial transcripts and Saddam's stuff was all babble and useless.
Of course anything we read about these HVT interrogations is 95 percent certain to have been intentionally leaked or divulged, because we're talking about high-profile, highly-classified information. This doesn't arrive to us by luck or through off-the-ranch Pentagon leakers.
Honestly, why would anyone at the Pentagon risk their career, their reputation, and a prison sentence for the benefit of a Time reporter?
