ABC GMA upbeat on Saddam capture. Reports Saddam's first words in captivity
ABC's Good Morning America
| ABC GMA Gibson/Sawyer

ABC's Good Morning America anchors Charlie Gibson and Dianne Swayer took an upbeat approach to the US capture of Saddam, especially compared to the dour Katie Couric who predicted more doom and gloom for the world.
According to ABC, Saddam's first words to US soldiers were "I am Saddam Hussein, Presient of Iraq. I want to negoitate." The reply from the soldier who pulled him out of the hole; "President Bush sends his regards!"
ABC featured live report from the farm where Saddam was captured. Highlighted the squalid conditions in which he was living. Also reported that he was beginning to talk, already leading to additional arrests.
GMA also had live shot with two SP4 who were there when Saddam was caught. Set up link for them to talk to their families. Verbal high fives all around, especially from Gibson.
All in all, much better than Couric/NBC

A much more positive view of the days events than the "Yesterday Show".
They had on a couple of soldiers on involved in Saddam's capture and hooked one of them up with their families via phone line.

Godd for Charlie and Diane-- may they can still be deprogrammed and lead productive lives after all. But, fortunately, I think the exorcism of Katie will likely destroy the host organism.

Katie Couric is a traitor/treason Democrat. She and her Democrat friends get their jollies when American troops are killed or wounded! She was upset and downbeat this morning that her hero Saddam Hussein was captured like the "RAT" he is. Katie and Saddam have much in common, they are both "RATS"! Americans who love our country. our freedoms and pray daily for the safety of our boys and girls in uniform should boycott this show and send this "witch" into the black hole from which she emerged, along with 911 murderers Bill & Hillary Clinton!

Is that really what the soldier said??? If so, I would like to give him a big kiss right on the lips and shake his hand!!! That is a great come back!!!

According to ABC, Saddam's first words to US soldiers were "I am Saddam Hussein, Presient of Iraq. I want to negoitate." (sic)
Early reports said that these words were preceded by, "Don't shoot."

"I would like to give him a big kiss right on the lips" Yes, that was a real, Up Yours, Saddam!
Re kiss on lips. Assume you are a female. "Don't ask, Don't tell" isn't too well thought of here on FR.... :~)

I won't watch Katie, for the sake of my TV screen. I fear I may throw the control at it! Thanks to the reviews from the later time zones, I know it is safe to watch GMA on the West coast!
