Osama's going to be next

OSAMA Bin Laden, the world’s most wanted man, will be next to be captured or killed, senior intelligence sources believe.

Security chiefs knew for weeks that they were closing in on Saddam. Now they believe they are hot on the al-Qa’ida leader’s trail.

Saudi-born Bin Laden has been tracked to the mountains between Pakistan and Afghanistan. He is constantly on the move, guarded by hundreds of fanatics willing to die for him.

Western agents, even those who speak the language, have little hope of infiltrating his organisation. But some Pakistani intelligence officers have picked up his trail.

Bin Laden is believed to be behind outrages like the club bombing in Bali and devastating blasts in Turkey. He is feared to be planning other atrocities like nuclear-wrapped “dirty bombs” or even the spread of smallpox.

One source said last night: “His would be a crucial scalp, dead or alive. Followers have come to believe he is immortal.

“Without him, al-Qa’ida would be seriously weakened.”

But his demise would not end terrorism by Islamic extremists.

An official explained: “Highly-trained cells, with a handful of people, have been embedded all around the world. Cutting off the head does not mean the death of the body.”

Saddam had “unquestionable” links with Bin Laden and al-Qa’ida, Tony Blair claimed earlier this year.

The US and UK governments revealed al-Qa’ida and Saddam “had contacts” since 1998. It was also claimed bin Laden associate Abu Musab al-Zarqawi sheltered in Baghdad after America attacked Afghanistan.

Another link between al-Qa’ida and Saddam was through the militant group Ansar-ul-Islam, based in northern Iraq. And Mohammed Atta, one of the September 11th hijackers met an Iraqi diplomat before the attacks.

US officials have also stated Iraq provided training in bomb-making, document forging and the use of poisons to at least two al-Qa’ida associates.

The terrorists were also offered havens and medical treatment. At least one Iraqi official is believed to have visited an al-Qa’ida camp in Afghanistan.

The only difference is that we know exactly where Osama is at. We just can't get to him.

Mussaraf won't even send troops into those village areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

He's been dead over 2 years.

Even his ooze in the cave floor cracks has dried up or been eaten by now.

It's a timing issue. Waiting for the perfect time... Like during Howard Dean's acceptance speach for the democratic nomination

"....We interrupt Governor Dean in Massachusetts and go to the Pentagon for this BREAKING NEWS...."

If Mussaraf sends troops...or if we send troops into those villages between Pakistan and Afghanistan...Mussaraf knows that his government will fall like a sack of potatoes.
We know this as well. Otherwise we would have already marched our troops into those villages.

Interesting if this unfolds and the coincidental attempt on Musharraf today was retaliation for getting too close to capturing OBL??

If it's done too close to an election then it was done Purely for election. It gets easier to read these shallow A-holinstics.

Three suggestions: (1) add bacon to the menu; (2) have the Israelis select the largest and meanest gay jewish inmate they have and have him share the cell; and (3) install a webcam and make it pay-per-view.

Forget the bucket and benches -- the WisDems have decreed that we can't afford this "adventure" any more.

Come to think of it, why spend money on gallows when an old-fashioned Louisville Slugger ($2.35 on e-bay)would do the job in a much more fitting manner??

The re-sale value of said bat would fund Seguridas Sociale for our guests/soon-to-be citizens for a decade or two......
