Oddly, Sandy Berger told Dan Rather just the opposite.
Hmm.
As did Joe Lieberman.

In as much as this is a very bad day for Saddam, it's an even worse day for the Rat Party.

So this guy was Clinton's terrorism czar? No wonder they failed to accept OBL when offered on a plate. This guy has no credibility.

General Oderno just said, "Saddam was disoriented". He also said, "Saddam had a pistol on him".
I think this is very important information, I think his loyalists will wonder why Saddam didn't kill himself to avoid being taken alive. I think they will lose all respect and alleigance to him.
Yes, there might be temporary increase in attacks on American soldiers, but now, Iraqis will resent these terrorists even more, for destroying their chance to become a democratic nation. I think the Iraqi people will really come around.

The capture of Saddam Hussein is actually bad news for U.S. troops serving in Iraq. That's the bizarre assessment from former Clinton administration counter-terrorism chief Richard Clarke, who said Sunday morning that the Iraqi dictator's arrest may only exacerbate opposition to U.S. occupation forces.
I haven't read any follow-on posts to this article, but I'm curious about what flavor kool-aid they're serving up at the DNC this morning?

"In the short term, we may have actually a worse problem" because the news may prompt enemy forces to try to demonstrate they can still attack. That well could be true in the short term. However, with Saddam gone the Iraqi people, who want stability, and most do, will take care of the terrorist problem, either by giving the coalition forces top grade intelligence as to where to find them ... or will off them on their own. With Saddam gone it will change dramatically the attitude of the Iraqi populace ... they no longer fear his return.

Keep it up, dems. You're proving to the American people that you're too insane to hold office, any office--including dogcatcher. Freepers have known this all along, but now you're proving it to the voters--every time you open your bitter, whining, lying potty-mouths.

This is wonderful...
This event will drive many Democrats to reveal their stupidity and hatred for America..
They will say some of the stupidest things possible, to detract from the wonderful event...
They're dead...
The election will be a route....the ignorant bastards will have to find a REAL job...

I'm sure that I'll read from the Rats that this is a hollow "victory" and just another photo op that President Bush arranged.
