"...U.S. District Judge Phyllis Hamilton said Excelsior is not indoctrinating students about Islam when it requires them to adopt Muslim names and pray to Allah as part of a history and geography class, but rather is just teaching them about the Muslim religion." I just cant believe it. With all the past instances for separation in public schools, I cant see this winning any support. Who is this Judge? Is this a rouse for the final elimination of religion in public schools?

Who are going to be the guest speakers: Arafat, saddam and Osama? The era of Judeo Christian Values and Western Civilization is gone.

It could be worse. The kids could be required to scream "Islam is a Religion of Peace" just before painting the walls with their guts via a chest full of plastic explosives.

In April the students will walk the via Delarosa and re-enact the crucifixion and ressurrection of Jesus, right? So that the muslim students can have their experiences broadened, I mean.

" "Dressing up in costume, role-playing and simulation games are all used to stimulate class discussion and are common teaching practices used in other subjects as well." Welcome to the NEW Public School Order! Hey is that little Johnny wearing a tie?

"However, Byron Superintendent Peggy Green defended the program: "Dressing up in costume, role-playing and simulation games are all used to stimulate class discussion and are common teaching practices used in other subjects as well." Yup. I remember back in the fifties getting dressed up to be a shepherd in my 4th-grade re-enactment of the birth of Jesus. Obviously, teachers in California are once again free to do religious Christmas pageants again.

It's absolutely amazing. The moment those two towers crumbled to the ground, America's teachers realized they had discovered new soulmates in their disdain for Western culture.

...U.S. District Judge Phyllis Hamilton said Excelsior is not indoctrinating students about Islam when it requires them to adopt Muslim names and pray to Allah as part of a history and geography class, but rather is just teaching them about the Muslim religion. Amazing. Can you imagine the outcry if a public school taught about Christianity and required Jewish and Muslim students to pray in Jesus' name? I would be against that too -- no government organization has the right to tell anyone to pray, or not to pray, or who to pray to, or how to pray. Public schools should be able to teach about religion just as they can teach about history -- indoctrination is not acceptable. It is not the job of public schools to force Muslim students to say Christian prayers just as it is not the job of public schools to force Christians to say Muslim prayers. It is not the government's job telling people how to pray.
The double standards of the left are hard to ignore. The same "tolerant" liberals who cannot stand the "oppressive" nature of Christianity seem to embrace Islam just because radical elements of Islam are at war against the West. Many of these liberals will say they are atheists or agnostics, and yet on one hand they see nothing wrong with a public school forcing non-Muslim students to say Islamic prayers, while on the other hand they would be calling the SWAT team if they caught a child with a Bible or if they found children outside of the classroom having some sort of Christian-oriented meeting.

U.S. District Judge Phyllis Hamilton said Excelsior is not indoctrinating students about Islam when it requires them to adopt Muslim names and pray to Allah as part of a history and geography class, but rather is just teaching them about the Muslim religion. Right. Just like having homosexuality stuck in their face, discussed ad nauseum, and the Day of Silence to help us all empathize with gays is not indoctrinating students...it's just teaching them about homosexuality.
But a teacher saying God or Jesus is.....INDOCTRINATION and must be obliterated.
My tagline says it all.
