Amazing. Can you imagine the outcry if a public school taught about Christianity and required Jewish and Muslim students to pray in Jesus' name? I would be against that too -- no government organization has the right to tell anyone to pray, or not to pray, or who to pray to, or how to pray. Public schools should be able to teach about religion just as they can teach about history -- indoctrination is not acceptable. It is not the job of public schools to force Muslim students to say Christian prayers just as it is not the job of public schools to force Christians to say Muslim prayers. It is not the government's job telling people how to pray.
The double standards of the left are hard to ignore. The same "tolerant" liberals who cannot stand the "oppressive" nature of Christianity seem to embrace Islam just because radical elements of Islam are at war against the West. Many of these liberals will say they are atheists or agnostics, and yet on one hand they see nothing wrong with a public school forcing non-Muslim students to say Islamic prayers, while on the other hand they would be calling the SWAT team if they caught a child with a Bible or if they found children outside of the classroom having some sort of Christian-oriented meeting.
