"New science and technology can now show the heart of the unborn baby beating in the mother's womb . . .

"New science and technology" can do a lot of things, but sonograms have been around since long before Mr. Miller ever set foot in the Georgia governor's mansion or the U.S. Senate.

Yes, indeed. There's even a catchy phrase for it:
"Ontogeny Recapitulates Phylogeny"

I thought my wife and I were the only ones to experience anything like that. After my wife miscarried, one of her so-called (now ex) friends told us that was a sign we weren't meant to have kids and we were better off with them. I told her point blank "Bitch get out of my house!"

This was a Friday night and my wife cried for 2 days. I never even speak her ex-friemds name. Even a mention brings up bad memories and makes her cry and this was 10 years ago.

I find it fascinating that people can rationalize away the facts. Even when I was a child, when I heard that someone was pregnant, I never once thought they would deliver a turnip, an oak tree, or a fish. Nor did I ever--not one time--expect them to produce a "mass of cells."

Then, on I went to nursing school, where I saw the products of miscarriages---and many times, the tiny infant was visible--even in an early miscarriage.

Nope, even laying religion aside, I don't believe I ever had any doubt that the product of human conception was a human. But then, I tend to see things in black and white--not a lot of gray in my life--LOL!

I understand why Zell is retiring. He must feel out of place in Democratic meetings with Barbara Boxer and Hillary Clinton.

Too bad Zell's a Democrat.

It is good that he is a Democrat. His words are more effactive.

And he spells better, too.
