Carter: Hillary Needs to Separate from Bill
There's no doubt Hillary Clinton wants to be president one day, former President Jimmy Carter said Friday
But she should take a few years first to "separate" herself from her husband, Carter urged.
"I don't have any doubt that she has thoughts about the White House in her mind for the future," Carter told CNN. "I haven't talked to her about it, but I think that's common knowledge.
Carter said that Mrs. Clinton has done a "good job" as Senator. But he advised her "to separate herself from her husband" before she runs for president in 2008.
The 39th president said the former first lady needs to "let the general public know that she can stand on her own feet [before she seeks the White House] and that she has her own agenda and she's a good political player on her own."
Carter didn't say what Mrs. Clinton should do with her husband should she win in White House.

must still have some lust in his heart...

Jimmy Carter apparently has an opinion on every single thing in the universe and will not be happy until we have heard all of them.

Geesh! Will the pock marked face, eyebrow pumping peanut farmer from hell ever shut up?

I think Carter has completely lost it. He will get a lot more invitations to do these shows because he will give some off the wall answer again that will make headlines.

My thoughts EXACTLY. I better run a search and see what Jimmy thinks of the new LOTR, Britney's new CD, and the Atkins Diet. I wouldn't want to make a move without his guidance.

Jimmy who?
You mean Amy's dad? Oh, is he still around?

Carter has lost his marbles. I am sure Hillary does not care what he has to say. None of us are. I continue to remember Jimmy Carter and those 17% interest rates we had for a home under his leadership.

It'll only get worse after next summer....when the last Seawolf class fast attack submarine, named after him, is launched into the fleet.

I wonder if Jimmy is lusting in his heart for Hillary? I've predicted elsewhere today that Jimmuh will step up to play the role of Sober And Responsible Elder Statesman, and suggest that it's time to dump Dean, and draft Hillary "for the good of the country."

JC, as in Jimmy Carter should follow JC as in Jesus Christ's warning to let nobody (including the self-righteous) put asunder a marriage.

I'm guessing that the USS Carter will no doubt be called "The Goober."

Brother Carter's Christian attitude comes from where? He is not suggesting marriage counseling? not prayer? no call for the X-first couple's repentence? geesh!!!! Is Brother Carter senile? He means, separate from him politically, not maritally -- she can't bank on being Mrs. Bill Clinton if she wants to be president. She has to be a candidate in her own right. So in that sense Carter's right.
