This is Chris's widow...

I have followed this thread since the beginning and you are all too kind. I have a page full of notes regarding people who'd responded, whom I'd like to talk with further (either on this thread or privately), but for now I just want to say that I've lurked here, and I knew you loved him. Sadly, depression took away that knowledge from him, and it took away a lot else besides.

I thank all of you who ever laughed at his jokes, smiled at his puns, or simply appreciated him being here. Lurking will not be the same without him, and I've had to disable my Yahoo Messenger because it reminded me too much of him... and the random FR threads he'd show me to read...

My love to you all, and thankyou for your sympathy. It means more than you know.

Much love,
Fiona (KangarooJacqui)

Deepest sympathies Fiona for your loss. Freepers have also lost a good friend. I'm a fellow Aussie living in Canada and wish God's tender mercies upon you in this difficult time.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed reading his posts -- I was impressed by his wit and his intelligence -- plus conservatism in someone so young is quite encouraging to me.

You and Chris will be in my prayers.

Oh my goodness! The stuff you have to be going through right now! I wish I could give you such a big hug. I'm praying that you find peace and can move through this horrible, horrible event in your life. What a thing to have to endure!

Oh God, I'm so sorry....

I've suffered terribly from depression. I'm on treatment for it.

It just seems like with depression all of the mind's coping abilities turn against it until the sufferer sees themselves as the cause not only of their pain, but all the pain around them. It's unbearable...

Depression is a killer as much as diabetes or cancer.

You are in my prayers... I too enjoyed his sense of humor, and loved his chosen handle. Sometimes it's hard to find the right words. All I can say is that I'm so glad that he chose to pick a handle, and share his time with us..and spend time with us. We've each learned a little something from him..and you know what...he is now a part of all of us..

God bless ya..

Prayers going your way. Your husband was a helluva guy - and you must be quite a woman, to have captured his heart. May God hold you and your family in His hands, and bring you the peace you need.
