You should try reading the book before making such absurd comments about it. If you have read it, my apologies for your comprehension skills.

You should try reading the book before making such absurd comments about it. If you have read it, my apologies for your comprehension skills. You mean the subtitle isn't enough to clue you in? You want to come at me and throw insults about reading comprehension? See if you comprehend what the following book description on Amazon says:
Columbus Discovered America . . . But Who Discovered Europe?
Were the ancient Egyptians black? Did Egyptian explorers land in Greece some 4,000 years ago? Did they plant colonies, establish royal houses, and bring civilization to Europes savage tribes? Did the secret rites of their temple cults later resurface among the Knights Templar and the Freemasons? In Black Spark, White Fire, Richard Poe provides startling answers to these questions and more. Brilliant. . . . Poe has produced a classic volume . . . splendid in its conception and powerful in its executiona major work.Molefi Kete Asante, author of The Afrocentric Idea
Molefi Kete Asante is generally considered an "Afrocentrist." Go flame him if you really have a problem with my description of Poe's book as an "apologia for Afrocentrism." It is. Now go away.

Too bad that you didn't read the book. You would find the Mr. Poe makes distinctions on the differences between African, Semitic, and Egyptian cultures. The transference of ideas, ways of living, and political thought from one geographical area to another is important to history. To ignore historical evidence for you own cultural bias is just bigotry.
B.T.W. I thought the same as you, however curiosity got the better of me, to my benefit. My original advice holds, get and READ the book.

You don't know what I've read, sonny, and I repeat that Poe's book comes down on the Afrocentric side of the whole "Afrocentrism" issue---whether the ancient Egyptians were "black," whether blacks colonized ancient Greece, etc. You can buy it if you want---I don't. Your coarse, ignorant charges of "bigotry" have nothing to do with the issue.

Super. "We dispute---they decide." That is, whoever is interested in this issue. Anyone reading this exchange knows about Poe's book now. For the opposite point of view, I recommend Mary Lefkowitz' "Not Out of Africa" and "Black Athena Revisited," which she helped edit.
And don't crawl out of your spider hole again, because I'm not responding to any more of your flames.
