Oh, so now in addition to being illiterate, I'm a bigot? You don't know what I've read, sonny, and I repeat that Poe's book comes down on the Afrocentric side of the whole "Afrocentrism" issue---whether the ancient Egyptians were "black," whether blacks colonized ancient Greece, etc. You can buy it if you want---I don't. Your coarse, ignorant charges of "bigotry" have nothing to do with the issue.
B.T.W. I thought the same as you, however curiosity got the better of me, to my benefit. My original advice holds, get and READ the book.
Super. "We dispute---they decide." That is, whoever is interested in this issue. Anyone reading this exchange knows about Poe's book now. For the opposite point of view, I recommend Mary Lefkowitz' "Not Out of Africa" and "Black Athena Revisited," which she helped edit.
And don't crawl out of your spider hole again, because I'm not responding to any more of your flames.
