The Mexicans have already militarized their southern border to keep the Guatamalans out. It's a shame they won't do the same to their northern border to keep the Americans out.

If it passes and Bush signs it there will be no reason for me to bother voting Republican or financially supporting Republicans anymore and I'll start supporting the Constitution party.

Isn't it against the law to give a fradulent SSN to your employer, the IRS or a financial institution? Maybe I missed something.

Social Security move the retirement age past 65 so that the "fund" could survive. A slap in the face to every participate in Social Security if the checks go "South of the Border".

Problem is you don't own land/property if you are a foreigner. It has to be held by banks, even if you pay cash for the property.

You are right - the RINOs are probably worse than democrats at destroying our constitutional liberties. I now believe that my affiliation with the Republican party is ill concieved. I think I will change to independent. Ive had enough of the RINOs.

Mexico is also the largest source of legal immigrants and foreign visitors working here legally. I think most here would agree that it's OK for these people to be covered by such a deal, but not the illegals. The problem is, how does Social Security implement such a policy? Thirty years from now, how are they able to determine eligibility based on the worker's status today, or the worker's status over his or her career? Seems like it would be a real mess.

Final approval of any U.S.-Mexican "totalization" agreement is up to the Republican-controlled Congress. The Bush administration supports such an accord as a way to improve U.S.-Mexican relations. Oh, yay.

The interesting thing about this is that we have literally millions of American veterans who are 100% disabled by the services and/or Veterans' Administration, yet Social Security denies them benefits... Nothing for vets who gave their country their good health and SS for law-breaking foreign invaders?
I know a man that was in Desert Storm and came home with a severe case of Gulf War Syndrome. The Army doctors tried to label him insane and denied him health care for years until forced to admit that Gulf War Syndrome is a real disease.
This country is going to hades and it doesn't seem to matter what party is in charge, the results are the same.

Maybe Bush is trying to dismantle the Social Security. Adding anyone in the world who might claim to have used a stolen Social Security number for 18 months would quickly kill the system. There's no way for us to pay for all the fraud and cheaters in addition to those who really did obtain a stolen Social Security number ---- absolutely nothing would stop a Mexican from claiming under 4 or 5 different names that they worked illegally in the USA for a year or so and receive 4 or 5 checks.

I would be for this if Bush puts in a big clause that all of us have a chance to opt out of the Social Security system right now and get a partial refund on what we've already put in.
If the Mexicans want Social Security money, they can all contribute ---- but starting from the spot where we were allowed to opt out, if they can keep the program solvent --- fine.

Its crazy when the head of Homeland security advocates amnesty for millions of lawbreaking aliens.
Of course he wouldn't have said that if his boss, GW, didn't agree with him on the subject.

God-willing by the time I retire, if that time ever comes, my retirement money might have already been spent by a Mexican national, south of the border!
