WASHINGTON - U.S. and Mexican officials are discussing an agreement that would allow millions of Mexicans to return home and still collect U.S. Social Security benefits.
The controversial proposal that could transfer hundreds of millions of dollars in Social Security payments south of the border has riled some Republican lawmakers. They worry that it could reward scores of undocumented Mexican immigrants with a U.S. pension, draining the country's Social Security trust fund at a time when its future solvency is in doubt.

Let's just outlaw borders, all sit in a circle holding hands and sing kumbaya.

Seems as though Ron Paul is about the only elected official that really see the flaw in this.
Yeah, they might pay into the system .... with a forged SS card...they are here "illegally" (which for those in democrap party) means they broke the law and are still breaking the law!!! arrest 'em, deport 'em and make janet reno patrol the border topless, wearing a thong to discourage any of them from trying to sneak back

Maybe it's time to annex Mexico and add a few more states to the union.

The interesting thing about this is that we have literally millions of American veterans who are 100% disabled by the services and/or Veterans' Administration, yet Social Security denies them benefits...
What, in God's name, is wrong with this picture, this government...this nation?

This has been my assertion all along. We are supporting this country without the benefit of being able to access their natural resources. Like you said, annex it and add a few states. Sure would be nice to take a short drive from southern AZ and be at a beach and still remain in the US;-)

Of course, the BIG downside is that the extra Senators will probably be Democrats (and the flag will start looking crowded with all those stars). However, the upside is that it eliminates the illegal immigrant problem (the hispanic ones).

Come here illegally; stay for 19 months; then file for SS disability ("a bad back") claiming that you worked under the table for 18 months and your EEEEEEVIL Republican employer didn't pay SS taxes for you.
Retire to Mexico and make babies with a cute 16-year-old senorita - even if you are old, the parents will be OK with the marriage because you have the Estados Unidos sending you money every month.

You can already drive south from Arizona and get to a beach where the locale and local inhabitants looks similar to Arizona with water. Why annex them when you already have them?
Now, if you want to do some horse trading, I'll throw in the whole of Washington, D. C. and the inhabitants within for the most desolate state in Mexico and probably put up some boot besides. Of course, this would have to be approved by the Bush and Fox. By the way, you do know what happens when Fox hoist leg on bush? I thought you did.

Its damned hard to deny that there are a lot of people in this country who seem to want to destroy it and who do nothing but dream up ways to hasten the day.

Seems as though Ron Paul is about the only elected official that really see the flaw in this.Final approval of any U.S.-Mexican "totalization" agreement is up to the Republican-controlled Congress. The Bush administration supports such an accord as a way to improve U.S.-Mexican relations.
Ron Paul is one of the few conservatives left in Washington D.C., it won't be too long before we have two liberal parties and no conservative party left.
We have a 400 billion medicare bill from so-called conservatives, a 800 billion spending bill from so-called conservatives, and now Social Security for illegal aliens from so-called conservatives. True Reagan conservatives should be outraged, but instead they are supporting these so-called conservatives, and supporting the destruction of any notion of limited government in the USA.

That would be good, but then you would have the libs saying that there is more poverty now then before, that we need to add them to unemployment, wellfare, etc. Just think what that would require tax wise. Plus, you would have to go and get rid of all the Mexican police and military and replace them with new ones that are not corrupt.

I think it's already a well known fact that the average illegal Mexican receives far more taxpayer financed welfare style services that far exceed any $ they've allegedly paid into the system. They do NOT deserve one damn more dime of our tax $!

No way will Bush sign this. I would consider it borderline treason. Selling out the American Citizens welfare to an foreign government. No one asked undocumented workers to come to America. If they had a problem with it they could pack their bags and move back.
