Agreed. Also, there's already a group admitting they're here to take over parts of the U.S. militarily, and return the land to Mexico. They're not hiding it, either.

Constituents which had no political power of their own. Little money and no voice. Had Ike been more forthcoming in his support of the Constitution, Blacks would still be voting for the "Party of Lincoln" today.

Exactly how many terrorists have come in through Mexico? What is your estimate. I can guarantee you that at least twenty times as many came in through JFK, Logan, and LAX airports. More have come in through Canada as well. We've caught terrorists driving across the border to the North. I've never heard of a self respecting terrorist who would waste time taking the scenic route through the dessert when they can fly in or drive across the border with impunity.

It seems to me that civilized people do not react to what amounts to trespassing by shooting the intruder.
After taking into consideration all the information that I have gathered over the course of years about immigration, both illegal and legal, the seeming fact that the politicos, both Democrat and Republican, have no intention of enforcing our nation's laws in regards to immigration, and "The War on Terror" TM, the only logical thing to do with the illegals in this country is to grant them some type of status, concurrent with registration and identification, so that we know who and where they are.
Wishing that they were deported, or better yet, stopped from entering the country in the first place is just that, wishing. If wishes were fishes no one would starve. The government is not going to enforce the existing laws and there is nothing you, I, or anyone else can do about it. You are not going to convince 80% of the electorate, 1/2 of which cannot read, that it is ok to treat these immigrants any differently than they would like to be treated. If this is made into a BIG issue you can kiss the (sort of) Republican Congress and the RINO Presidency goodbye and say hello to Howard Dean, Tom Dashle and Nancy Pelosi, two of which are left of Hillary.
It's not worth it. Let the Suramericanos in and let them provide cheap labor. Give them a Social Security number and let them work their asses off and send money home to Mama and Papa. They will make better citizens than many who were born here.

That's all part of my point. We don't need a massive and growing criminal subculture inhabiting our neighborhoods, towns, and cities. They will have to be assimilated into the mainstream legally or they will assimilate themselves illegally at our expense. They will either become taxpayers or continue to cost us our tax money.
Remember, we are talking in the millions of people, not a few thousand. Amnesty and access to the mainstream is the steep price we all hve to pay for generations of open borders. It can not be undone.

I don't remember Hitler's Germany gathering up suspected illegals and deporting them en masse.
And how many of the criminals are in this country illegally? How many are not citizens? A foreign sounding name and a dark complexion does equate to a foreigner except in the eyes of Tancredo butt kissers. Seems the ones that I looked at had drivers licenses and CA didnt start giving them out until a month or so ago if they ever did.

So now you are cheapening the word terrorists by including run of the mill criminals. Hell using your standards, arent 40% of Californians criminals anyway, what difference does it make if you have a few more. With all the driving you have to do in California I cant imagine fewer than 40% having received a traffic violation making them criminals, perhaps of the lowest order, but criminals nevertheless. Maybe we ought to take away their gun rights, after all they are criminals. Jaywalk and turn in your 9mm.
All of these illegal immigrants are LAWBREAKERS who have no respect for the laws of the United States. The promise of America would be kept if these people came to the United States LEGALLY.
