December 10, 2003 -- HOW is it possible that a president of the United States ends up on E!'s "True Hollywood Story"? Maybe the question really is how in the world did a president's genitals end up as serious discussion within the Justice Department - and how did we the people end up paying $40 million to end up with an impeachment based on a report that reads like a romance novel by Jackie Collins?

Linda Stasi is an idiot. Accomplishments? He had none until the GOP took over Congress in 1995.
The economy was still so-so, unemployment at today's levels, deficits high, we were being attacked by Muslims at the WTC bombings and McVeigh in OK City (working with Muslims I'm convinced), and scandals about FBI Files and Travel Office firings and smearings were ripe.
Once the GOP lowered capital gains tax rates in 1996 and FORCED welfare reform down Clinton's throat, things perked up. Almost ALL of the projected surpluses can be traced to the increase in capital gains tax revenue (that the CBO siad would LOSE revenue but then gladly projected it's gains out 10 years...what a crock).
Also, even though it was ugly during the government shut down that eventually cost Newt his job and Clinton an intern (good trade off), automatic Medicare spending increases in the 14% range were pared back.
Then Clinton took credit for it all and won in 1996 (because the GOP was stupid to run Dole) even while running on "fixing Welfare reform I signed".
But as with all things Clinton, everything was based on a lie. The "greedy 1980's" look tame compared the excesses of the 1990's. And like Clinton's true character (of which I warned people in 1991 and 1992), it all exploded for the farce and lie it was. The stock market collapse after the dot-com bubble burst (I can't believe companies with no business plan or projected profits for years failed) was a fitting end to the Clinton's deceptions fake reality.
And then reporters found out the GDP and unemployment figures used by the Clinton's in the late '90's were indeed bogus. Robert Reich, Secretary of Labor, was complicit and should probably be in jail today with most of the Clinton inner team for the laws they broke freely.
Anyone thinking the Monica issue was "$40 million spent" on uncovering "little white lies" is a moron. Lying under oath in a Grand Jury for ANYTHING by the President of the U.S. is a crime - period! You and I would be thrown in prison in a heartbeat.
Liberals need to "move on"!

The Clinton deceptions, intimidation, and attempts at buying people's silence in the Monica case shows the tactics that were used elsewhere. The sitting president had been taken to court and his accuser was given her day in court; the president chose to lie and deny her an honest hearing of the evidence. That is a crime and even Ted Rall believes that Bill Clinton should have been impeached over it.

In one sentence they say that yes, "he balanced the budget" and "reformed welfare" and is "credited with reducing crime by one third." Capital gains from the stock-market bubble balanced the budget, the Republican House reformed welfare (over Clinton's objections), and the building of more jails by republicans cut crime.

I think that crime just moved from the streets to the internet. Roomier digs and more money can be made without witnesses.

If anyone watches this, take note if there is any mention of the partisan PAC "Moveon.org" since this is where they got their start (as in "censure and move on", a chant they dropped after buddy Bill was same in office). He never was censured for perjury.

Well maybe people will see now that it wasn`t "just about sex" as the liberal spin meisters put it. It was about Bubba getting sued for whipping it out telling a woman to "kiss it". You know, the type of thing that would make you want to beat the crap out of somebody if he did it to your sister...And then we have the second part. Committing perjury in a court of law, something 132 people at the time were in prison for. Perjury when they wanted to show that "Prince William" wasn`t the Prince as he portrayed himself out to be. And as David Shippers said; "Does an innocent man pay the victim $800 thousand dollars?"

"You know, the type of thing that would make you want to beat the crap out of somebody if he did it to your sister..."
Or the type of thing that would normally have N.O.W. in an outrage over, demanding resignations...ala Bob Packwood/Clearance Thomas. The double-standards are so outrageous.

Close.
But in reality, except by the kind of "accounting" machinations that would put you or I or Bill Gates, in prison -- all feeling we'd gotten our just deserts -- the Budget was not balanced and hasn't been since 1928 -- the year the "DemocRATS" took control of the machinery of feral gummint.
