Can someone tell me why the liberals get so upset when someone says they aren't going to take public financing? Seems to me that leaves more money for their pet projects.

"The concept of actually winning a political race does not, traditionally, influence the bleeding heart liberal one iota -- certainly not in the primaries."
Possibly Ivins is deluding herself about this, but she's not fooling anyone here. Liberals are obsessed with winning.

She can cast her vote in the proctology booth where they both would fit confortably.
Molly, your spelling is almost as bad as your logic!

But of course I'm noticing this interesting thing: Dean has so much money he actually turned down public campaign financing (since I'm a card-carrying liberal, I was naturally deeply unhappy over this. There was an interesting thread about this on Free Republic a couple of weeks ago. When you "turn down" public campaign financing, it enables you to better manage your money in states where you wish to concentrate more spending.
See, if you accept public funds, you are limited on how much you can spend in individual state primary races. So if you believe you really need to win, say, New Hampshire and you want to go bananas on TV ads, etc., without any constraints, then you ditch the public funds thereby freeing you up to go hog wild. No limit. This also forces your primary opponents to change their own strategeries.
It has absolutely nothing to do with having "so much money he actually turned down public campaign financing".
But then, who expects a lazy liberal cow like Ivins to actually do any homework.

I'm sorry, but of all of the 9 dims running, he seems to be the sleaziest one of all. He looks like a shyster lawyer or something to me. Figures Molly would like him. More knee pads coming up?

So, the Leftist thinks it's past due time to get mad, and it invokes that same old tired song about "justice".
I've been haunting a few of the Leftist sewers, and have yet to have one single rat defend the burka to me, to explain why there wasn't a single protest sign mentioning the civil rights of those women in an oppressive patriarchal society, and why the FemiNazis chose instead to make headlines by obsessing over golf courses.
Leftists have absolutely not one molecule of credibility, and this Ivins puke is gonna start it's breastbeating about being the champeen of "justice"?
Yeah, right....

I know, he's even less of a liberal than Bill Clinton was, but I don't think Dean is a moderate centrist No Molly they're all liberals, just like you. There's nothing centrist about you or Bill, Al and Howard.

"It is the bounden duty of bleeding-heart liberals like myself to make our political choices based on purity of heart, nobility of character, depth of compassion, sterling integrity and generosity of spirit."
So that's why people like Crazy Ivans supported Clinton. I never could figure it out before.

Molly thinks that if she strings her words together cleverly enough, she can bring a Dean victory to reality by the sole power of her rhetoric.
Cute piece Molly, but not much substance. You are way past the point of pulling off wearing that cheerleader skirt.

I'm for Howard Dean -- because he's going to win. Oh, my...Muley's been grazing in the neighbors' hemp fields again, hasn't she?

And he gives a "hell of a speech". The Left decides on its candidates based on superficial qualities like speech-making. By that standard, they should be trolling used car sales lots. Leadership, integrity, intelligence, values, and issues apparently aren't factored by liberals.
