Also, since the male/female ratio is about 1:1...That would seem to support the idea of mutual monogamy...

Santorum was right... In an interview with The Associated Press, Santorum criticized homosexuality while discussing a pending Supreme Court case over a Texas sodomy law.
''If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual (gay) sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything,'' Santorum said.
''Whether it's polygamy, whether it's adultery, where it's sodomy, all of those things, are antithetical to a healthy, stable, traditional family,'' he said.

"Faithful Mormons" oppose polygamy. The fact that he (& most polygamist) refer to themselves as "fundamentalist Mormons" is offensive. He was excommunicated from the Mormon church just for being an advocate of polygamy. It's these wackos that give Mormon's a "bad rap".

Who don't these guys just get 'em a bunch of "live-in" girlfriends and call them "wives"? They could still get the tax break by claiming head of household.
As for the original Mormom belief, it doesn't appear they were too committed to their belief if they were willing to give up the "word" from the Angel of Moroni, or whomever, for a "contract" from a human government. Oh wait! I forgot, "more was revealed later".

Faithful Mormons uphold the honorable and holy status of plural marriage given to them by the Prohpet Josehp Smith.
