Actually, I consider him in the same class of elitist, along with FDR, George Washington, and, even, General Lee. Class exists in our country, and thinking you can chum around with one of these people is juvenile.

I met W back in 82 when I was attending Odessa College. He was nice enough and I do think he was acting like he had some God given right to act superior... However, I think I would have been in need of drug testing if I had asked him if he wanted to meet me at Steak and Ale or Harrigan's for lunch...

Back then, all he had was his name... You have to give him credit for choosing his parents very well. :-)

And in all walks of life, there is that separation that is not spoken of but ever present... I was thinking about someone who was hanging out in with Sinatra in Vegas... Sinatra asked a waitress for a drink. The person told him that he should tell the waitress to bring him what he wanted, not ask for it. His position was, "Regular people ask; Important people order!"...

Actually, I know several members of the Walker family, and have "chummed around" with them. They are not as distant as you think.

Interesting point. Class DOES exist and it's amazing how much it affects someone. I deal (business-wise) with some pretty wealthy people. While I can put my dress-for-success suits on and speak well, I feel so uncomfortable around them. I almost get the hives when I'm in one of those super-rich bars or restaurants and the bill comes to a thousand dollars. Give me a place with sawdust on the floor any time.
