Chris Wallace is no Tony Snow!
December 8, 2003 | Mike Baker

Posted on 12/08/2003 6:45:30 AM PST by MikeBaker

I was worried when I heard that Chris Wallace, a long time member of the liberal media elite, was taking over as host of Fox News Sunday, but I decided to give him a chance. After viewing his pathetic debut performance, I can see that my fears were justified. In his interview of Andrew Card, Wallace acted like an aggressive prosecutor grilling a witness. He was cynical, rude and repeatedly interrupted Mr. Card, barely letting the poor man complete an entire sentence. But when Wallace interviewed Howard Dean, the tone was more like two friends chatting. Yes, he did press him mildly on a couple of points, but mostly he let Dean ramble on uninterrupted, with lengthy answers that were more like speeches. I assume that they'll be getting James Carville to fill in as host when Chris is away.

All politics aside, the other problem I have with Mr. Wallace, is that compared to Tony Snow, Chris has the personality of a door knob. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE email Fox News and ask them to reconsider their choice of host! My suggestion would be John Stossel.

Regards, Mike Baker

You are not the only person who thought this. I was surprised when several of my friends thought he was too easy on Dean. I personally thought he was tougher on Dean than Snow would have been but I also like Geraldo now that he's on FNC. So you can take my opinion for what it's worth. ;)

Not enough to make Fox get scared.

There are enough of us that like real journalism, that which is not just pro-conservative.

It was really a disgusting performance. Dean said that the President is always using "code words" to divide the American people racially and specifically he uses the word "quota" to kee black Americans out of good paying jobs...and Wallace never batted an eye. Dean called the President of the United States a race baiting bigot and Wallace thought that was a-ok. He never made Dean clarify or subtantiate any of his outrageous claims.

What did Wallace sayt when Dean called Bush a bigot? Did he ask him to cite at least 1 time when the President used the word "quota" as a racially charged code word?

All I want for X-mas is for the show to dump Juan Williams...he's dumb as a rock...some of the best moments occur when Brit gets fed up with Juan's inane, and insane, comments...either the looks on Brit's face, or he finally erupts and tells Juan he's nuts...

Personally, I think Juan Williams brings down the show with his stupid comments. He's absolutly an idiot! When Brit get's mad it's a great! If Brit leaves the show then I'll turn the channel. In the mean time, I thought Chris Wallace was ok. I'll give him some time.

I've noticed that too. It could well be that Juan is losing whatever he once had. Maybe he has health problems.

We saw his band in May -- it rocks!!! He is a GREAT guy. Could you picture Chris Wallace doing this?
