It seems clear some people worship at the altar of the state and it's current leader.
No minds will be changed and the points made were lost on some. Oh well, Merry Christmas.

What in the world are you talking about?
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
You NEED to re-read 77. Or do you NOT understand scripture! Is it biblical to scold people whom you disagree with and take a "holier than thou" attitude? Inquiring minds want to know. LOL

Boy, this would be funny, if it wasn't so sad.
President and Mrs. Bush used Scripture in their Christmas Card. That they didn't call it a "Christmas Card" so some of you would know it was a Christmas card, was perhaps in hindsight a mistake. (Now that I realize some people may not have been cognitive enough to realize it was one).
Job was IN the Bible. He was speaking TO GOD in the scripture above.
I wasn't being "HOLIER THAN THOU" in pointing that out. I was only trying to point out something I thought a few of you were missing. A few of you who were accussing the President of being AFRAID of to mention his FAITH, or God.
He did MENTION BOTH HIS FAITH AND GOD quite eloquently... with the GRACE and DIGNITY befitting a President and First Lady.
It is obvious that there is still so much hate and even jealousy for people in power, that some people will find fault no matter WHO the President is.
REGARDLESS, You (and others) come into a thread where people are having fun, feeling good at Christmas time, and rain on their moment.
If that makes you feel better.. so be it.
It didn't make me feel worst. I still feel good.
I'm glad YOU feel better. Honestly!!
MERRY CHRISTmas!!!
To: churchillbuff
It's old Testament passage, and not even one of the prophecies referring to Christ. Incredibly PC....ROFLOL! I'll bet that's the first time anyone ever refered to JOB as PC!
Find something REAL to be critical about, OK?

Keep Christ in Christmas. George Bush's card doesn't.

People who accuse THIS President of lacking courage make me laugh........
(Guess they forgot that he just took a little plane trip to a war zone, eh? But using Job is cowardly?? LOL!)

The problem isn't with the President
Why not? It's his card, so in this case, the problem IS him.
To: ohioWfan
I don't know if any other Presidents have put Scripture on their Christmas Cards.
For the last time, this isn't a "Christmas" card - - there's no mention of Christmas or Christ. The Old Testament passage has nothing to do with Christmas or Christ. It's a "holiday card" which could have been sent out by someone who has no time for Christ. Too bad the president can stand up to Saddam, but can't stand up to the PC anti-christian folks.

George W. Bush keeps Christ in Christmas.
His "holiday" card sure doesn't.
To: ohioWfan
You got it! Using scripture was awesome, using JOB was brilliant!!
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
MERRY CHRISTmas!!!
And same to you. Too bad Bush didn't have the courage to say the same thing.
To: GRRRRR
I've got mine up next to my invitation to Arnold's inauguration! What a year!
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
The card was sent out as a CHRISTmas Card..
No, there's no mention of Christ or Christmas. It was a "holiday" card -- and the "holidays" include Kwanza, Hannuka (which isn't even a major Jewish holiday), New Year's and God knows what else. This is NOT a Christmas card, because a Christmas card says "CHRISTMAS". Duh.

With that kind of writing on the envelope, they probably scruitinized it pretty closely for anthrax.

Scuse me, but the scripture he cites says nothing about the BIRTH OF CHRIST -- and THAT's WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT. And it is a purely manmade holiday... you won't find a New Testament verse about Christmas.

I make it a point not to waste my time arguing with people whose minds are sealed shut (and who obviously have other problems with the President, unrelated to things like Christmas cards).
This is NOT a lack of courage. George and Laura Bush are Christians who celebrate the birth of Christ, whether or not their card meets your personal approval.
And anyone who gets agitated over these kinds of things, and tries to prove meaningless points should consider mellowing out and thanking GOD that we have a Christian president whose life honors the Christ that he serves.

(Christmas) is a purely manmade holiday"
Whatever Christmas is, is irrelevant here, because George Bush's card isn't a Christmas card; he doesn't dare use the word, "Christmas." Christ said that He'd always be unpopular, and the president's failure to use Christ's name shows that's true.
