If you are java enabled it gives you a small pop up alerting you to mail or messages.

I clicked on it and came right back to the same page. I'm sure it has SOME purpose!

I could tell you but it would spoil the fun of remotely erasing your C: drive.

I clicked mine and all I heard was a moose.

I think everyone should stop playing with it.
You don't know where it's been.

When I click on it, it just takes me to my comments, same as clicking on "New Messages."
Is your browser java enabled? It's working fine for me. Try clicking on this link... http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/notify If that doesn't take you to the pager, your browser is deficient. Could someone please explain this innovation?
It's a little notifier that chimes when you have incoming posts or Freepmails. It's been around for a couple of years. Very handy. It's good there's finally a short cut for it. I always have one window dedicated to the pager.

Perhaps they were gonna show that we are innovative.

All,
Please stop clicking the icon. Everytime someone does it, my garage door opens and my microwave starts.
Thank you.

Here's another question: There used to be a link called POST in the top right corner. Where does one go to post a new thread now ?

To Self - Test Pager.

It's not working well in Opera 7.23, even with Javascript (not Java as many here have irrelevantly related) enabled. It goes to a redirect page, then quickly - too quickly to manually click on the link - back to the forum.

I'm still sort of new around here. Can someone please tell me what the following mean:
"ping"

"BTTT"
Thanks!
