Unfortunately, she is married for real today, but she's still acting (currently in a tv series):

My Dear Sir,
I have a 16 year old daughter and will be in your position in a couple of years. I suggest you send me this guys picture and address and I will go kill him, then you can do the same for me in three years.
I married my wife 31 years ago when she was two weeks past her 19th birthday, and her dad hated me until he died. Perhaps drinking or drugs would help.
I will say a prayer for you .... and me!! ;-)

Neil Cavuto wrote the article. I don't think he is interested in your offer. ;)

"I think it would be fun to do a semester in Europe, Dad." I can easily understand why! This guy is really bizarre!
This girl better look out.... Dad sounds like he'd break her legs if it would keep her home and dependent on him.
Pity this dad for not finding the center of his life in his relationship with is wife instead of his daughter.

Interesting musings. I suppose it's a rite of passage for Dads with daughters. I only have a son so I guess my experience will be different when the time comes. Kind of reminds me of the one Wonder Years episode when the oldest child goes off to school and the parents come to see her, to find that she's living with a guy who, to say the least, doesn't impress them.
I remember with my first steady girlfriend in college her Mom didn't like me at first but her Dad did. Then, when the relationship deepened, her Mom started to like me and her Dad started to dislike (not quite hate) me. Then when it didn't work out and we broke up but were still friends, they both liked me. I wonder what to make of that? Just confused, I guess...

I feel the same way...and I know how Neil feels. I have a daughter and a son. How I would love to be able to rock them to sleep again or have them sit in my lap or have them look up to me as they did when they were children. I get teary-eyed just thinking about it. How I loved them! and I still do. Just as you do.

He was a nice enough kid, but I instantly hated him. As will I, when the time comes.

If I missed whimsey, I apologize to Neil.... I just kept getting a little more horrified the more I read on this!

Only a dad with a daughter can possibly understand what Neil is saying in the column.
We have one child, a 12 year old girl who is the light of my heart. Seeing her grow into a woman, and remembering that little girl who tried to touch the moon as I held her on my shoulders, makes me very proud. But, it also puts my heart through a shredder.
