Florida prosecutors have accused number one talk radio host Rush Limbaugh of "doctor shopping" in their investigation into Limbaugh's misuse of prescription painkillers. But on Friday, the top talker's attorney Roy Black returned fire, saying that the Palm Beach state attorney's office is engaged in what amounts to allegation shopping.
"[This investigation] started out [alleging] he's part of a drug ring, or drug trafficking," Black told NBC's "Today Show." "Then, supposedly, he does money laundering. Now they've gone all the way to say doctor shopping."
"Every week it is something new," the celebrated lawyer told NBC interviewer Lester Holt.
Black noted that Limbaugh has several long-term maladies that would have required the attention of different medical specialists.
"One of the doctors is a surgeon who did an implant, another one handled his back problems," Black told "Today." "Since when today do people have one doctor that they go to for all their medical problems?"
Limbaugh's defense lawyer noted that millions of people become addicted to painkillers, but none have been subjected to the kind of law enforcement scrutiny directed toward his client.
"Have you ever watched people on television leafing through records, calling out the names of their doctors and a list of medications they were using?" Black complained. "The first person is Rush Limbaugh."
"Why is Rush Limbaugh the only person who gets treated like this in America?" he added.

The liberals hate Limbaugh plain and simple. He's their worst nightmare. He's conservative, funny and there's not a racist bone in his body.

Yeah everybody is "singled out" when the heat is on. The poor. The Middle Class, The rich, famous. At least what the lawyers say.

The persecution of Rush Limbaugh is 100% political.
They do not treat other self-enrolled drug rehab patients this way......and it's obvious that all of them were using drugs.

This will legally either clear or condemn Rush. The timing seems to coincide with the launching of the new Liberal Talk Show/Media effort. The Rush problem is a great boost for them.

Anybody want to take bets that Rush is the first-and-only person to have the entire prosecutorial weight of Palm Beach County thrown at him?

Why aren't people here attacking Roy Black as a sleazy criminal defense lawyer who will say anything to get his client off the hook?
That's what they say when it's Joe Six-Pack who's charged with a crime
As usual, the special "Rush Rules " are in effect.

Yeah when they busted me for that joint in high school it was political too. Damn politicians and police against weed, I bet they were using a ton of stuff.

Because his client isn't some darn liberal demo.

I don't know about all of America, but I believe "doctor shopping" only became a felony in Florida in May of this year. That raises an interesting question.....when did the intrepid Palm Beach D.A. find out about Rush's doing this? Did he know what Rush was doing before the law was written? Was the Florida law written as a boutique "Get Rush" Bill?
Did Der Slimemeister have any political operatives active in Florida last April and May?
Rush Limbaugh can afford the best defense attorneys in the country, and he has excellent political contacts of his own. If it turns out that Florida legislators passed the bill as part of an effort to put Limbaugh in prison for his opinions, then the Constitutional prohibition against Writs of Attainder could be brought into play.

Why aren't people here attacking Roy Black as a sleazy criminal defense lawyer who will say anything to get his client off the hook? Okay, "Roy Black is a sleazy criminal defense lawyer who will say anything to get his client off the hook".
Now, did the Florida legislature and the Palm Beach County D.A. act in bad faith to "get" a political opponent?
That all said, if Rush did something that was against the law, then he ought to stand up for it and take his punishment.
And then we indict and try William Jefferson Clinton, and of course you two are going to be impartial and fair and vote for Clinton's long-deferred conviction if the prosecution makes a good showing, right?

"Since when today do people have one doctor that they go to for all their medical problems?"
Well, there are those that have to go to a Primary Dr. who decides if it is necessary for you to go to a specialist and gives you permission to see another Dr.

When this is over, Rush ought to pack his bags and move out of that 'RAT-infested Palm Beach county. It would be a blow to its economy.
There's a nice little house for sale next to me here on Florida's golden gulf coast. Marta and I could exchange recipes while Rush digs the mole crickets out of his lawn.

I would love to see Clinton convicted of his many crimes. Hillary, too. But I also believe everyone should stand equally before the law.
If Rush, who supported the insane War on Drugs, violated drug laws, I don't see why he should be cut a break while a construction worker would go to jail for the same crime.

At any rate, it's also been stated that they have been investigating him for at least 10 months prior to the Enquirer story breaking. How does one investigate the committing of a crime that doesn't exist at the time?
