Congrats to K. State, Big 12 Champs. They spanked the pompous overrated Sooners 35-7 tonight in the Big 12 Championship game. Meanwhile USC and LSU continued to roll with big wins(52-28 and 34-13(with 3 minutes left, respectively.)
No way should OU be chosen by the BCS to play in the Sugar Bowl, the pollsters and computers should drop them hard to at least #3(Michigan is probably better, but they do have 2 losses.) What a fraud the BCS is, can anyone reasonable prove that OU is better than LSU and USC, both of who have dominated late in the season? Yet just like with Nebraska a few years ago, OU will probably back in based on bogus prior rankings, overrated hype, and a scam of a system.
OU didn't just lose, they got their butts whooped. If they had lost by just a few points, one could make a decent argument that perhaps they below in the mythical national championship game. But not after this lame performance, and the impressive play of USC and LSU in the last month. 2 teams are going up, 1 is going down. But once again, the BCS is probably going to show how utterly bogus it is. Besides, I'd say its 50-50 that right now Michigan could beat them all, just as with USC the year before.
Without a playoff, its all just figure skating.

Even Notre Dame might get lucky every once in a while, but Rutgers is a sure thing... ;-)

How about Cornell or Penn?

Four years ago I would've invited you to bring on Cornell AND Penn...but I've learned some humility since then...

Hey, as irradically as college players play, even a playoff wouldn't solve the problem.
Over the last 50ish years LSU has played the same team twice in one season several times and has lost on one of the occasions almost every time.
The ranking system offers us the opportunity to piss and moan at each other.
Wasn't it just within the last few years that Joe Pa's Lions split a #1 ranking with Oregon or something? That was almost as much fun as winning, wasn't it?
Before last night some of the "talking head" debate was whether Oklahoma was the best ever...I guess that's over. A few years ago the same thing was going on about Nebraska...but oops they lost to Miami.
Last year Ohio State beat Miami when no one thought they could. Of course Willis Magahee messed up his knee in the third period, still went pro and hasn't played yet. Buffalo says he'll probably start next week. I'd be willing to bet that last year's Miami would beat last years Ohio State 7 out of ten times...but then that won't happen either.
Who's the greatest? Da Yankees. (I'm from Louisiana...no Major League Baseball there.)

Here are several good reasons why OU deserves to be there ahead of USC:
http://www.andersonsports.com/football/ACF_frnk.html This is the system that we have devised..and I, for one, don't like it. But neither Bob Stoops, nor any OU player can change the system. And until every conference plays a conference championship game (or doesnt play one) using that as one standard for who plays for the national title is a bit absurd. Personally, I want to see every conference play a championship game..followed by a playoff system made up of each conference winner. Under that system, OU would obviously be left out this year..and the shortwhorns would be left out each year that Bob Stoops owns their silly asses. :D

My prediction..80,000 soused LSU fans so far gone they can't tell who actually won the game.. LOL!
No risk taker you....
That's a SUCKER bet!

"Sugar Bowl: OU 38 LSU 17" The Las Vegas Sports Books had LSU a 2 point favorite over Georgia last night. LV has the best prognosticators, how else could the build those guilt hotels.
I forget did LSU cover? Did they win by 21 or by 2?
Hey, you might be right...but I wouldn't give LSU and 21...good luck.

Tailgating is better at LSU. We cook better so we ought to be the champions. Ya'll are all talking about the sooners and those hippies. LSU is the best in the country , will whip the sooners and we will all get soused after eating gumbo all day and go home and throw up. It will be a great day down here.

Only in your wet dreams. The best chance anyone had to beat OU is when they were undefeated. They are not now. They will cream this LSU Tiger team which is basically the same one which lost last years Cotton Bowl to Texas 38-24. This year's Texas team is only slightly better than last years team and got drilled by OU 65-13. LSU has no idea what's coming.

So what happened to oklahoma? Why did they lose so big and don't you think they are demoralized. It was pitiful to see.

I would install OU as a 7 to 8 point favorite. This is just my score prediction, My NFL pick of the week was Baltimore 31 and Cincy 10. Final score today was 31-13. Not too bad.

What a perfect scenario. Hopefully this will give the BCS a final death blow. What a travesty to college football!

I thought OU would have been ripe for the upset in the NC game. They had nothing really to play for. They were in the NC game no matter what. Notre Dame won the 1966 title with a blow out loss to UM. It really doesn't matter. OU will be ready for the Tigers with a can of Whup Ass. I'm sorry but that's how I see it.

This is a much better LSU team than last year. (which did not even PLAY in the SEC Championship game ...much less win it)
Let's bookmark this thread for January, shall we? :o)

Here's the BCS critic's nightmare:
1 USC loses the Rose bowl
2 OU whups LSU and is crowned undisputed champ
3 BCS lives on and on and on....

I follow SEC and college football religiously and I disagree with your assesment. This is also a much better OU team. I don't see it. But if this game is tight and the winner wins by 7 or less and USC beats the tar out of UM , USC will stay #1 in both polls and outcome of this game is basically irrelevant and the much deserved death of this absurd BCS (Bullsh#t Chosing System). You have a co-national champ. The outcome of this year will be like 1997 where you had UM and Nebraska co-champs.
