By Susan Schmidt and Caryle Murphy Washington Post Staff Writers

Sunday, December 7, 2003; Page A01

U.S. authorities have revoked the diplomatic visa of an influential Islamic cleric, and the Saudi government has decided it will no longer sponsor an Islamic institute in Virginia where he sometimes lectured, moves that reflect both nations' increasing efforts to curb the spread of extremist Islamic rhetoric, according to U.S. and Saudi officials.

If true, this is certainly a hopeful sign that these terrorists will be reigned in (wiped out) and relative peace can prevail throughout the region.

The agreement was: The Saudi Royal family would finance the Wahhabi movement all over the world, turn a blind eye to the financing of Al Qaeda and other "militants" groups, promote only fundamentalist Islam -- forgoing ALL western values and trappings -- and enforce Sharia laws (even if not called that) in Saudi Arabia -- AND -- the "militants" would do their dirty work elsewhere and not operate/attack inside Saudi Arabia.

Well, there went that deal.

Sounds like they only act when they are caught with their pants down and also resonates of more Saudi whitewash to cover their own asses.

Examine their wahabbi state religion and their support of the Palestinians in their genocidal quest to exterminate Jews under guise of zakat and donating to "Islamic charities" and then maybe we will discuss the Saudis and "peace."

Too late. What we really need is more internal strife in SA, a full blown civil war. Let these bums fight amongst themselves and wreck their infrastructure. Then wink wink nugde nudge to Jordan for a favor. Nothing big, just invade, take the oil fields, and leave the rest of SA to turn back into dust. Saves us the trouble of doing so, the muslims don't need to worry about us "infidels" invading, and we have the oil in the hands of a freindly nation. What is the rest of the terrorist world going to do when their money trough drys up?

Don't fix the wound. Amputate.

I wrote on this subject on a previous thread a few days ago... Im all in favor with starting off by returning Mecca, Medina and the Hijaz to the Hashmeites, and de-legitimizing the rule of the House of Saud gang of bandits :o)

"Too little, too late."

Exactly..
The House of Saud will do as little as necessary to keep us off their asses....
At the FIRST opportunity - they will be at our throats...

Islam as led by the House of Saud and the Wahabbi sect IS THE EMEMY...

They just woke up and smelled the coffee. Too bad the liberals in this country haven't.

"Saudis cutting support for militant Islam"....
As the father of a friend of mine said when his daughter and her live-in boyfriend decided to get married---"It's about damn time."

Agree. Now if we see more attacks in Saudi Arabia we'll know they are getting serious.

This is really big!
