"climate change is soon likely to exceed anything the planet has seen "in the last million years" Did they forget that the worlds oceans rose from 300-500 feet only 15,000 years ago.

Um, help me out here...ICE displaces water and raises the level. When it melts, the level subsides. What am I missing?

Or course they fail to recognize that with the Gulf Stream 'polluted' with cold water, there will no longer be any warm water to keep western Europe warm. All that ice that melts in Greenland and Antartica will be deposited in western Europe as snow. That, or western Europe will become one big ice skating rink.

That's the Arctic you are thinking about. The ice the are talking about sits on land in Greenland and in Antarctica.

"putting the world well on the way to doomsday".Well, I'll be!
All this time I thought is would be the "mindful" actions of SUV's that would bring about this demise.
I just don't know what to think anymore.

I laugh with derisive jocularity, while constructing my tin foil helmet.
We are still recovering from the "little ice age" of the dark ages.
We have not yet reached the global temperatures extant at the time Eric the Red discovered Newfoundland's shores.
Let me say that again, (paraphrased) for effect.
It's still colder globally, than it was 1,000 years ago.

I can't trust a movie that considers the UN building to be the biggest landmark in Manhattan.

London, New York, Miami, Bombay, Calcutta, Sydney, Shanghai, Lagos and Tokyo would be among those largely submerged by such a rise. I'll miss Sydney and Tokyo.....
