A controversial Christmas tree called, -"Jingle Buds" will stay at the Festival of Trees with ac compromise.
The Festival of Trees is a -fundraising event for Primary Children's Hospital.
Organizers say a tree made up of 15-hundred empty Bud Light -beer cans is inappropriate for a children's event.
So red -ribbons now cover the label of each can.
The family that donated the tree spoke with us earlier this week.
Carole Robinson: "WE'VE BEEN COMING TO THE FESTIVAL OF TREES FOR YEARS AND WE LIKE TO DO FUN DIFFERENT THINGS AND SO WE JUST SAW THE OPPORTUNITY AND WE ARE EXCITED TO DO IT FOR A GREAT CAUSE."
Carole Robinson said it never -occured to her the tree could send a wrong message.
While she was -upset at first, she says she is fine with the compromise ribbons... and just hopes the tree raises money for the hospital.
Carol Robinson's "Jingle Buds," which she created with beer cans, didn't sit well with some patrons of this year's Festival of Trees in Sandy. (Francisco Kjolseth/The Salt Lake Tribune)
Some people like the fragrance of pine during the Christmas holidays. This household enjoys the smell of stale Budweiser.
NO, less "fillingful!"
Somehow I have the feeling that house smells like that all year long.
I'm so glad we're so grown up as to recognize true evil in the world. Didn't even take a snap of the fingers to see the utter depravity here.
